i'm rewriting my review of this album
throughout the years, my music tastes have been changing a lot, but plastic beach is one of those albums that i could've listened in any point of my life, and i would have loved it.
there's a shit ton of genres, influences, features, songs, moods THERE'S TOO MUCH STUFF PACKED IN THIS ALBUM. AND I'M ONLY TALKING ABOUT THE MUSIC, but that's why i love this so much. basically, plastic beach is a blend between art pop music and a ... read more
thank you @TKS for sending me your album!
i'll start by saying this has potential
the beats and production are really good but it's something i'd like to see you experiment more with, because this rlly has potential, and it shows on tracks like billions (that song is amazing btw), another life or even no answers (because of the beat, which i love)
also having your friends on an album you produce sounds like a rlly fun idea, and i get why you did it, i would do it too.
but the ... read more
yeah this is my first time listening to this guy
and i thought this was decent
house is not rlly my thing, and the songs feel (and are sometimes) kinda long. i also feel like some these songs don't rlly have a lot going on tbh.
i don't know, maybe it'll grow on me.
life is still a banger tho
this year is being a rlly good one for music
however, if we talk about mainstream pop this year has been mediocre because of albums like this (there are still rlly good albums like brat and hit me hard and soft).
katy perry used to make good pop music
but everything here feels so souless, from the instrumentals to the performances. it’s just a disaster.
definitely one of the worst albums of the year, and maybe the worst pop album of the year too.
this is one of the most forward-thinking albums ever. and it's also a classic.
i'm still shocked this thing came out in 1969. the instrumentals and performances sound incredibly good, and these are also catchy asl.
so yeah, abbey road is a classic and basically pop rock's pinaccle, it includes some of the best songs ever on this genre (also it is definitely the best beatles album).
and i don't rlly get why almost every single music magazine rides sgt. peppers meat so ... read more
he will never drop a bad album in his lifetime at this point
mr. morale & the big steppers is a very soulful and catchy album. some songs feel like an improved version of DAMN mixed with some baby keem, and some others are way weirder and unique.
lyrically, this album is definitely kendrick's most personal and honest album, to the point that this album feels like an exorcism of everything bad thing he did, ranging from lust, hatred, pride, etc. but it also has a lot of themes of ... read more
this album is one of the most beautiful things i've ever heard. every song plays with your emotions almost too much, but that's why i love this album so much. it's just heartbreaking and beautiful at the same time.
i was born in a spanish-speaking country, and i'm grateful i was because of music like this.
this album feels like a very intimate and lush music session. even being intimate it manages to have absolutely KILLER production, mixing, performances, and no bland or ... read more
i'm so glad this wasn't the first death grips album i've listened. not because it's bad, because it would have made me faint.
the powers that b is a fucking behemoth of an album, not because of its length, more because of it's heaviness and variety.
NOTM is maybe the most disjointed hip hop LP i've heard (in a good way). it's flooded with weird vocal samples done by björk and glitchy, maybe even a little bit dancy beats. it's really good, but jenny ... read more
89 USER SCORE?????
i have to check this out
ok. i just finished this. and i gotta say it definitely deserves the praise it's getting.
my expectations were high, even being my first time listening to magdalena bay. and i loved this album.
every single instrumental is so layered, dreamy, and mica's voice blends perfectly. and it's just such a feel-good album overall.
i gotta say i didn't like the opener at all, but the album just kept sky-rocketing in quality for ... read more
where do i even start?
this album is one of the greatest pieces of music ever. no question.
if aliens came to earth and they asked me to show them an album it would be this one
anyways, this album is so amazingly textured, performed, put together, mixed. EVERYTHING is amazingly done here.
it represents a shit ton of emotions in only 4 TRACKS.
but even with such words, i am barely describing this album. let me dive deeper.
DISC 1:
storm is probably one of the greatest songs of all time. ... read more
one of the greatest projects of this decade, black midi has gone into a hiatus. and i'm kinda sad.
but this is FIRE and it's saciating my thirst of new material from the band
i'm excited to see where this is going
this should be illegal
(btw 22 of her 40 reissues are of the tortured listeners department)
this shit is one of the most fun musical experiences i've ever heard.
every single beat is noisy, groovy and ride's performance on this album is just amazing. basically, this album is full of bangers.
the first 6 tracks are straight up 10s or 9s (10s mostly) but when i was listening to track 7, 8 and 9 i was kinda scared if the album was about to fall off a little bit (like, it still would be like an 8). don't get me wrong, trash, houdini and bb poison are still fucking ... read more
this is actually one of the greatest songs of this decade
but it's not the song of the year because of some man named kendrick lamar duckworth
how is this actually one of the worst things i have ever heard
this is litterally nf mixed with shitty alt metal
contender for the worst album of the year
yeah all i think about while listening to this album was how the fuck did he made this with early 2000s technology
drukQs is genuinely one of the most forward-thinking albums i've ever heard. there's just so many things to unpack on this album. there are glitchy, fast-paced, and manic drill and bass cuts, electroacoustic piano cuts that feel robotic in the best way possible, (they're beautiful)
weird ambient drones that serve as interludes, and that's only a summary of ... read more
king gizzard is one my favourite bands of this decade, and with this album they proved why
they litteraly can make any genre they want and it will sound good
flight b471 is not the most epic, head-banging album king gizzard has done and neither their best one, but even without that, it's still a rlly good and cohesive blues rock project.
my only complaint is that it gets kinda redundant sometimes. not a major one tho.
