GUTS pretty much blows SOUR out of the water and improves the album's formula, making it more ambitious, more catchy, more diverse, writing better lyrics, etc. a pretty good album
this album is perfectly crafted, from the production, the singing, the instrumentation... it's probably the best pop album of the year. also caroline's voice is just beautiful, she sounds like an angel. a very lush and artsy pop album, also one of the best of the year.
there's something like post-country? cause that's the best way to describe this album, it takes country vibes and shit, but makes it heavier and (kinda) chaotic and mixes it with rock and punk. it's great, and unexpectedly artsy.
i think all the years they have worked together reached a point where their chemistry is at its maximum. and this is the album that proves it. the production is great and bars are in another level tbh. amazing album.
i'm not super familiar with this artist, but i'll try my best to review this album. it's so sad and beautiful at the same time. it perfectly blends elements of soul and art rock together and it feels like it came out in the late 60s (in a good way).
it's been a while since sufjan didn't dropped a record like this one. and the past ones were'nt even bad. the times that sufjan is passing through and the lyrics make this album very moving, but still beautiful.
it's great, but it would be better if it wasn't 1h and 20min long. there are still amazing highlights here, and it's very good to know that lana got better through all the years of her career.
it's such a beautiful lp. the best thing we can do is keep it in our memory and thank him because this kid gave us something beautiful. rest in peace kai, wherever you are.
this album feels like i'm being penetrated by a robotic cock and it's great, it goes hard as fuck (IT'S A DEBUT WTF).
it's impressive how tim hasn't dropped a bad album in his entire career. i'd say this album is one of the best of his catalog (below harmony in ultraviolet, ravedeath and virgins). everything flows beautifully in this album, the drones, electronics, everything. it's one of the best progressive electronic albums i've heard so far, and one of the best of the year.
i've never thought disco could've sounded so good. this album takes dance-pop and disco to another level and mixes it with grand and groovy instrumentation, amazing vocal performances from jessie and super positive lyrics. amazing album, it will be definitely in my top 10 albums of the year.
travis comes back with probably his best album (alongside rodeo). he took an experimental way in this record, and it ended up being great
one of the slowest swans albums, but it's not bad. in fact, it's great, and it contains some of the band's best lyricism to date, with Gira adressing his own mortality. if it was shorter it would be perfect, but it's still amazing.
it's sad that the band broke up, because this album is one of the best rock experiences of the year. at some points it's so intense, damning and exhaustive that it makes me go fucking crazy. excellent project.
