omg did it actually drop
it is ass but still better than the atrocity that was vultures 1
but it is still ass
(edit: 27 -> 20) it shrunk on me. yeah, it is THAT unfinished
yeah this is a complete change of style compared to LP! and STH. i love it.
i don't get why so many ppl don't like this.
it kinda reminds me of veteran but it's also very different.
"i lay down my life for you" is a very in-your-face, confusing and surreal rap experience, full of guitar and glitchy beats. those things are like my peanut butter and jelly lmao. but it also has some cuts that are kind of beautiful, and these might be the most accessible songs peggy has ... read more
i gotta say i don't like some of the lyrics on this album. however, the songs themselves are amazing.
the mix between acoustic and electronic instruments is rlly good. and it's not an easy thing to do.
this album has truly heart-wrenching moments, but also some very dancy ones.
basically this album has a lot of weird mixes.
but everything works very well here.
this is how i feel listening to this album https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yhUyBPlTVwI
love deluxe is an album that lives to its title. it's lush, warm and sade's vocals are just angelic. the production here is amazing, elements of 80s music, downtempo, jazz, smooth soul, and sophisti-pop are beautifully mixed here. songs like no ordinary love, i couldn't love you more, kiss of life, or bullet poof soul are very luxurious cuts, whilst other songs like pearls, like a tattoo, o i ... read more
"dark times" is a very chill and thoughtful rap experience. the beats on this album are fresh and chill, and vince's lyrics are as sharp and thought-provoking as ever. the whole album feels well put together and has a consistent vibe, a very chill and deep one. this rlly stands out among some of his other works. it's probably his best yet (and my favourite one from him too).
uhh
it's not good, and it's too long.
but it's still kinda better than some of his modern work.
some songs are decent, but when they're bad they just bring me back to revival.
and the whole theme of this album being about gen z trying to cancel him is corny asl.
at this point i'm worried if he's gonna make good music again.
despite of not being as deep of some of his other works, it's still a very fun, concise and short trap project. but what sells me is the old trap mixtape sound, i love it.
holy shit
this is weird, but it's good
there's too much styles of music on this. this is the wildest album gambino has ever done.
and if this is his final album it makes a lot of sense, and i'm totally satisfied with it.
this is a modern classic.
despite of being an easy listen, it still feels very thoughtful, cinematic and unique.
it has some of kendrick's best performances, and concept-wise it is at the same level as tpab. but tpab is still better. i think tpab is more of an experience, whilst this album has more to offer individually.
but it's still a classic. there's just not a single miss on this album. it's a 10 for me.
this is unexpected asf. but i love it.
bad cameo is a very druggy, dreamy and soulful project. somehow yachty's autotuned vocals fit very well with the style of music, and james blake's performance is just angelic.
the sound of this project is so unexpected to me, i was expecting some kind of rap music, but no, yachty did it again. he switched genres seamlessly on this album. i love how nightly the instrumentals sound, the production, the percussive elements, everything. this is ... read more
"samurai" is a very short, but consistent, jazzy, lofi, conscious rap project. and it's great. the beats on this album are beautiful, chill and jazzy, kinda reminiscent of a tribe called quest, and lupe's flow is great on every track. overall this album is a very chill experience, it kinda reminds me of vespertine when i first heard it (sorry for the comparison).
i love the ideas of this album, it's soulful and chill, but it gets a little bit bland sometimes. (and the album gets a little long). i still loved this, and i think it's billie's best.
this album is trying too hard to do something different than camila's older catalog. it has some decent ideas, but the execution is horrible.
this is a very bland and inconsistent album (like why the hell there's an interlude featuring blp kosher and a solo drake song). if she wanted to do something adventurous and different, it should have been somewhat consistent.
(also this album flows like ass)
it's insane that an aoty user made this. it's just so good. this album is low-key and emotional, but grandiose and explosive too when it needs to be. it's like a mix between lush, dreamy folk, and shoegaze, with post-rock song structures. and it's done masterfully. hands down, amazing project, and one of the best of the year.
i didn't like the first track, but i kept listening, and this EP ended up being a fun experience. it still has things that can be improved, but overall i liked it. it has potential.
velvet : 50/100
pulsating devil 1996 : 79/100
01 soul corrupted : 84/100
salene society : 90/100
this album has very nice instrumentation, but it gets redundant sometimes, and the album gets a bit long. i don't have any bigger complaints tho, it's still a very good, jazzy, soulful record.
yes, i do. and i love this album.
i never listened to dds because it never taught my atention, and i never liked vaporwave. however, thanks to the fantano review i decided to check this out. and it wasn't what i was expecting.
"you like music" is a very short, concise, glitchy and fun idm experience. and it completely surpassed my expectations. it's dreamy, danceable and perfectly textured at the same time.
this will stand out as one of the best projects of the year for ... read more
ranking swans (#1)
this album basically drags you through the mud for 36 minutes. and it's great. i love the emphasis on percussion and rhythm. it just makes me nauseous. my only complaint is the flow of the album, i don't like how some songs transition into each other. i still think it's very good.
this album is practically a mix between the floatiness of aphex twin's early work with hardcore hip hop and a lot of other weird styles of music, but somehow, it feels cohesive and well put together, and it flows perfectly as a very druggy experience.
these are some of the qualities that the online version kind of lacks, this version flows better and has the best songs overall. that's why i actually think it's a (light) 10.
this album is as immersive as it is unsettling.
it's 1 hour and half minutes devoid of any happiness or life.
each track is incredibly haunting and abrasive, and this album overall is a monumental piece of music.
i love this album. it's one of my favourites of all time.
but the fact that this thing was made by normal people (like, one of the dudes is a teacher) is truly disturbing.
