Lana Del Rey - Born to Die

Lana's vocal performances, while not always great, have a certain grabbing delivery to them. There are some really good angsty vibes here, some tracks being more bittersweet than others, this shit fire.

Favorite Track: Carmen

Ethel Cain - Perverts

It is my first time listening to something like this, and I don't think any other album I've listened to thus far has given me a sense of dread and fear so immersive and chilling. Amazing. Fucking amazing.

MITSKI DISCOGRAPHY DIVE #2

Holy shit, what a jump in quality! I am seriously impressed. After spending a lot of time with Mitski's debut album 'LUSH' and not really liking it that much besides 1 or 2 songs, I was a bit fearful for this one. Though, LUSH did showcase Mitski having a great voice, capable of expressing herself in such a way that I could feel the angst she felt. The only real issue was some of the production and how some of the melodies weren't necessarily that ... read more

Mitski - LUSH

Trying to get into Mitski's discography!

I don't like this album that much. It's very short at like 26 minutes, and the first 2 tracks are great. Wife is my favorite song off this album, almost made me cry!
Mitski has an amazing voice too, and I love her display of vocal control this early on.
My main issue with this album really is its production. It's very off key sometimes, and some parts of these songs don't mesh with each other well and honestly make my head hurt ... read more

balloon

tyler released some of the best tracks as the snippets

On my first two listens I didn't really enjoy what I was listening to, but on my 3rd listen something clicked. Beats sounded groovier, flows sounded better, I have no idea what happened. Pretty solid album with some misses

Fav: NISSAN ULTIMA

Kendrick Lamar - Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers

I think this is my favorite Kendrick album. Sonically you could argue all of his albums are a more pleasant experience, but emotionally he has struck me in this album unlike any album I'd heard from him before.

I may not directly relate with his experiences that he states here (not like I ever did at any point) but overlapping my own experiences with his helps me think and heal. I heavily appreciate it for that.

I used to dislike some parts of this album. I didn't really fuck with ... read more

Eminem - Relapse

I feel this is an unmatched Eminem album with an atmosphere and vibe like no other
the production is enticing and enthralling and is so perfect at bringing that eerie horror vibe
the melodies on this album too are amazing, i think its the only eminem album with good sing songy choruses performed by eminem the flows are different from the straight rapping on MMLP but way better than the overly technical shit we get now, and i actually like the accents he takes on this album
and as an experience ... read more

Eminem - The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce)

the more i listen to this album and listen to older eminem albums in comparison (specifically MMLP/Relapse) the more the difference is clear to me

eminem tries to do the whole slim shady shtick on this album yet again but fails miserably at what made it so good in those albums, it was either clever or too outlandish to the point you couldn't take it seriously

in comparison this album's shady shenanigans felt low effort, forced.... HALF of the time

I do think there are some good and ... read more

lithonia got my hopes high, but this album is kind of underwhelming and a pleasant surprise at the same time

i'd never listened to a gambino album so i didn't know what to expect, i loved lithonia and i hoped the whole album would sound like that, in the night dropped and i wasnt a big fan

this album is so varied, how do you have tracks like Lithonia on the same album as the track that came before it, or a fucking track with YEAT
and that is not a compliment, i don't think ... read more

"> The problem with this album is that the OLD Slim Shady would say controversial shit but actually have a message to get across exactly man, i relistened to MMLP after this to see what made that different and there was actual shit he had to say besides the offensive shit"
