Childish Gambino - Camp
65

Some good highs like Les and heartbeat and all the shine, but lots of it is somewhat mediocre but he raps pretty well sometimes. Cool first impression of a childish gambling album

Wesley Joseph - Forever Ends Someday
85

Very surprising, very fun listen although Danny brown felt a little under developed or just short. Not sure what to say other than great production and rapping from Wesley. I’ll be watching him from now on

JPEGMAFIA - All My Heroes Are Cornballs
48

Way over rated, he just be hooting and hollering on some songs, while others have so much potential

The Weeknd - Hurry Up Tomorrow
100

Ok so I did a more deeper dive into the album on a relisten, and holy shit. This album has so many bangers, so many vibes to the point, the album is amazing and I was just holding myself back from the first listen I had with it

MIKE - POMPEII // UTILITY
57

This was a very bad impression of earl, imma be honest, production CARRIES the whole album. Every verse sounds mostly like they don’t even wanna be rapping and have no energy, although that could just be their style ig. Not my favorite this year at all. There were some good standout songs out of the sea of songs on the album

21 Savage, Offset & Metro Boomin - Without Warning
85

Quavo carried ngl, but some of the better rapping from 21 I’ve heard in a while, but this was even better than the other metro boomin project I had listened to

Thundercat - Distracted
55

The first half was amazing, but the second half was so boring i was actually happy it ended, it all sounds very repetitive on the second half, but good features in general

Kanye West - BULLY
93

So much of the album has completely surpassed my expectations with new production and him getting rid of the ai. This is new kanye flexing his production skills off newer styles that seem to be a way to pave a new era of hip hop

Freddie Gibbs & Madlib - Piñata
80

Very consistent album, made me rethink my Alfredo ranking, tracks like high and piñata highlight the album

Kid Cudi - HAVE U BN 2 HEAVEN @ NITE?
70

All great songs except for drown. Didn’t really like drown, but everything else is amazing for the first impression of kid cudi

slayr - Half Blood
50

Lots of great rapping and production, but something is missing it feels like. I will listen to the deluxe tho

Kanye West - The College Dropout
70

Very quality beats and rapping, I can tell this is a very good hip hop album, but for some reason a lot of the album just doesn’t sit right compared to other Kanye albums. Some nice highs though

Baby Keem - Ca$ino
90

I feel like keem is still trying new things with his voice, which keeps things still fresh. The production was phenomenal as usual and his rapping was great. In a way, im dissapointed on the less hype songs then what we had on the melodic blue, but i like the direction he has chosen to take. Im also glad he didnt try to replicate songs from the melodic blue

J. Cole - 2014 Forest Hills Drive
80

My 100th ranking and for many more to come, I really enjoyed this album. Although I really liked for your eyes only, this album just felt special compared to it. So many bangers like apparently and no role modelz, it being very impressive how even though there are no features in this, its really interesting to listen to

Travis Scott - Birds In The Trap Sing McKnight
60

I love the production of this album, and it has the same energy as rodeo too. Extremely underrated

J. Cole - The Fall-Off
85

J cole is a man of suprises. I went into this expected something good, but i was blown away. The production is lush and beautiful, his rapping sounded really good. Somehow every week after a$ap rocky's dont be dumb dropped, a nee album every week has impressed me even more than the last. This rating is based on the first listen tho, so it could change later on

Don Toliver - OCTANE
88

This albums vision is so creative and is executed extremely well, lots of songs are absolute bangers, and teezo touchdown ruined the song. I am pretty excited for this year after don’t be dumb and this dropped back to back so far…

A$AP Rocky - Don't Be Dumb
75

What a fucking album, for the first time ever, i stayed up to listen to it and im so glad. Call it recency bias, but this is my fav album from asap, and there are so many cool parts about the album. The title track was amazing, the ginted genre blending was done masterfully (except i didnt like doecchis verse but they did have good chemistry) i am going to relisten in the morning and we'll see if my opinion changes

Travis Scott - UTOPIA
95

Some high highs and low lows, but the highs overpower the lows remarkably well, and much more fun then rodeo
