While some songs aren’t anything special (mainly Rat Salad and Planet Caravan), the highs on this album are so good that it doesn’t really matter. Starting off an album with War Pigs and following it up with Paranoid is actually some generational stuff, and having Iron Man not long after is also insane.
It’s good but I vastly prefer the more pop inspired songs compared to the acoustic stuff
The vocals on this album are absolutely incredible wtf. The fact that Courtney can go from screaming her heart out to singing some of the most majestic hooks of this decade and not only make the transitions seem effortless but also manage to make both vocal performances amazing and stand out is insanely impressive and I feel like this album especially combines both styles really well.
After the first couple of songs I was worried that I wasn’t going to like this album and that it would be a disappointment for me, I am very glad that is not the case.
This album sounds like I’m ascending to heaven. I had no clue what dream pop was or what it sounded like heading into this album but after listening I can confidently say that this is EXACTLY what dream pop sounds like, it’s honestly a perfect description tbh
I prefer the highs on Trench and the lows on Trench and yet for some reason I prefer this album overall over Trench. I’m not sure why tbh
Slightly overrated but still a very decent album even if I think it falls off after the first third
Could’ve been an 80 or higher but Good in Bed is so ass that it actively drops this otherwise amazing album down to a 78
When the songs are good they’re really good but I find a majority of the songs here either too short, undercooked, or both. Still decent though
was expecting to hate this given the interesting blend of genres, user score, and just me overall not listening to any Sleep Token before this but i actually kinda liked it by the end. I do wish the songs had more metal elements in them for sure but the current blend of alternative pop a little bit of metal is still pretty decent for the most part. I think my biggest complaint is that this album can get stale quick and around the middle it starts to get very inconsistent, but the first 2 tracks ... read more
I feel like this album gets a bit repetitive but other than that I really like this album. This album is so consistent outside of the last couple of tracks which are kinda weaker but not really. The first 10 tracks are all REALLY good, especially tracks 4-8. Idk maybe I just like pop punk but I really enjoyed this album
I’m gonna write a more in-depth review later but as of right now all I gotta say is that I really like ABBA and this album is really good. I’ll come back with the real review soon
If the second half was as good as the first half, this could've genuinely been a 9/10 for me. It's still a great album but after getting hit with amazing bangers like Careful, Turn It Off, Ignorance, and especially Brick By Boring Brick, I can't help but feel a little let down by songs like Looking Up or When The Lines Overlap. Like I said earlier this album is still great, I love a lot of the big pop-punk bangers on here like All I Want and Brick By Boring Brick and Hayley ... read more
there's some good stuff here for sure but none of it sticks out to me, still a good album but I feel like it's missing something personally. I liked Strong Medicine a lot and there were a couple other solid tracks but for the most part this album kinda blended in with itself for me, which is a shame because I really want to like Em Beihold the same way some of my friends do.
