Midori flew higher than the sun so that one day BABYMETAL could walk.
Reading other reviews, I feel like I made a big mistake listening to this album along with spotify lyrics. My biggest problems with this album was that a lot of the songs subjects just didn't connect with me (Weird Fishes being a big exception). But anyway, spotify lyrics are awful, very inaccurate. Jigsaw Falling Into Place had "As your blather disappears" instead of "... Bad days...", which left me screeching my head, but hey, this is the guy writing masterpieces about ... read more

This sounds exactly like a pack of talented adolescents with great influences and great skill, but with not a lot of good ideas. Like they are writing songs for the first time ever (specially with the lyrics... oh god the lyrics).
The Beatles-esque Bad Day is particularly terrible, and the biggest offender in the album for me. This album is full of Beatles-esque moments btw. Some are nice, others not so much.
There's also some recycled ideas from within the album too, which can ... read more
It's crazy how she evolved from her last album to this. This is a goddamn masterpiece. Getting Older is a perfect sophomore album opener with it's themes and sound. Male Fantasy is the perfect closer to a break up coming of age album. I don't know if it will ever be possible for her and her brother to ever top or at least come close to what this LP achieves, but somehow I'm hopeful that they will eventually reach even higher ground than this someday. Those two together are loaded with good art ... read more
E do outro lado do clima (ainda) mais ... read more
This album can be hard to get into at first ( it sure was for me), but when it clicks with you, you realize it's one of the best albums ever made. Bee Thousand is like a fuzzy dream, full of incredibly catchy tunes that stitch together, and when you wake up you can't quite remember it all clearly, but the melodies stay in your head forever.
Absolute perfect album + Absolutely ahead of it's time. Perfect mood, perfect tones, perfect playing, perfect production, perfect lyrics, perfect arrangements... I think you got me by now, no need to extend myself.
It's just astonishing how this lengthy 15 track album manages to be so consistent and packed full of amazing tracks. Leave It In My Dreams, Lazy Boy and Permanent High School are peak Julian pop rock songwriting. The rest of the album just go in lots of different tangents of musical genre, and almost every single attempt is successful. The only "duds" in my opinion are One of the Ones and Black Hole, but for very different reasons. One of the Ones is, by far, the most uninspired song ... read more
I'd say there's a good song in every single track of this album, BUT... The production in general is REALLY lacking, in several departments. Some songs fell super underdeveloped, especially Killing Lies and Fear of Sleep . A good producer working with a healthy band would NEVER let those songs slide into the album in the state they are. Other songs are the opposite, their are extremely busy, even more so when comparing to old Strokes material. For some it works like a charm (Red Light, Vision ... read more
