Solid death metal album with quite a few good songs. Just a bit too long for what it actually is
Gojira’s best album by far. The blend of death, groove, thrash and progressive metal comes together with genuinely pressing lyrics that really have not aged
This might just be his most criminally underrated album. There are so many strong tracks and this album has such an atmosphere. With an absolutely stacked feature list with basically every big name in rap at that point to also having an absolutely crazy rollout. Had this album jus been trimmed down a little bit to about the hour mark or under this could have possibly been his best.
One of his most under appreciated. The contrast on tracks like on sight with the experimental production to soul samples makes for some really crazy stuff that doesn’t sound jarring. This whole album is filled with great samples from songs like Gyöngyhajú lány at the end of new slaves or the whole of blood on the leaves using Nina Simone’s strange fruit.
For a debut album when he was still really fresh and new this is crazy levels of quality
Idk what it is about king crimson but even on the first listen I find myself liking every song almost immediately.
Really enjoyed this album. Said a billion times but starless is nothing short of incredible.
Abbey road is often said to be “so ahead of its time” for the 60s and I think so many people forget that this album exists. The mix of jazz, classical, prog rock and art rock makes the 5 song long album really enjoyable. I really like the fast paced jazz rock of “21st century schizoid man” which feels something like a car chase to a complete 180 with “I talk to the wind” which sounds like meditation or something really calming idk. Epitaph is really great, a ... read more
An album that genuinely deserves more discussion, this is rocky at his peak imo, and while I don’t think his next albums are necessarily bad I don’t think any of them come close to this. The “vibes” this album creates just really puts you into a state of drug fuelled surreality (or at least that’s the vibes I got from this anyway). Clams casino is an amazing producer and this is one of his best works. Srsly CHECK THIS OUT
An album that just gets better and better with every listen, good morning captain feels like what the whole album had been building towards and doesn't disappoint
Really solid noise rock amped up with the middle eastern influence sewn throughout
The fact that this is the same band who made cop and filth just blows me away
Had the absolute pleasure of seeing this live last night and listening to this on vinyl just does not do it justice how powerful this stuff on a live stage. Baby’s in a thundercloud is without a doubt of the best things I think I’ve ever heard
