Capitalized by eccentric flows and foul-mouthed wordplay, even at his most traditional and reserved and least conceptual, Danny Brown still proves that he’s capable of making a solid album. Clocking in at just over a half hour, he opts for brevity with only the Run the Jewels collaborative track 3 Tearz even coming close to the 4 minute mark. Very sleepy, breathy vocals with rather persistent atmosphere that really fails to capture anything besides an entry level knowledge of how to make dream pop. Nothing on it is egregious besides the Simon & Garfunkel cover, but not much besides the Jesus and Mary Chain cover and the main synth melody on the bouncy true opening track You’re No Good leave me wanting to listen to this again. Ultimately, this fails to make any lasting impressions.
