Boldy James - Across The Tracks
80

Brief Review:

Conductor Williams is becoming the new Anderson Paak
He's just a cheat code when it comes to production

I wasn't originally going to check this new album out from Boldy James because... I just didn't feel it. 😅
BUT, once I saw that Conductor Williams, who is becoming one of my favorite producers, was the one producing this album, I knew I had to check out this album. In short, Across The Tracks is a short and sweet album that is filled with nothing but great ... read more

James Blake - Bad Cameo

Gonna tell my kids this was Run The Jewels

Damn. Not gonna lie, I didn't have high hopes for this album. As much as I liked Yachty's album, and as much as I love James Blake, I didn't know how these 2 were going to work together. But on Bad Cameo, they actually show a lot of chemistry in the weirdest way possible. Going into this album, I expected your usual standard production from James Blake and Lil Yachty's wobbly vocals, but I didn't get that. I mean, I did get ... read more

Future - EVOL
70

Brief Review:

GUYS!! DID YOU KNOW EVOL BACKWARD IS LOVE?!?! CRAZY, RIGHT!?!?! 🤯🤯🤯

Look, I'm not going to convince you that EVOL is Future's best album because, realistically, it's not. However, what I am going to say is that EVOL is insanely underrated. Like damn, this album has some great dark viby tracks. It's not perfect by any means. But for me, it's not as weak as some of ya'll say it is. Ain't No Time is a nice low-key banger with nice synths ... read more

Future - DS2
80

Brief Review:

Do ya'll think Future secretly liked the 2DS?

DS2 needs no introduction. When it comes to trap albums, DS2, in my opinion, is one of the best out there. It's just nothing but fun and vibes, having some hard ass and viby production, and some iconic and funny lines from Future. And it's a pretty short album, so the fun doesn't really stop. Obviously, everyone knows Thought It Was a Drought. That hook is literally a classic. I mean, fucking someone's bitch ... read more

Before I start, I want to say this. I won't be posting as many reviews as I used to. I want to spend more of my time making music and preparing for college. So, for some albums, I'll either just post a score or write a brief review. I won't do this for all albums. I'll still post in-depth reviews once in a while, especially for those I really want to talk about. But I hope ya'll understand. I know I don't need to say, but I thought I'd get that out there. ... read more

SUICIDE AND DEATH WARNING

900 followers, man... fucking insane. I honestly don't want to repeat myself over and over again on each special, but thank ya'll so much for the love and support. It means a lot to me. Now, for my 900 followers special, I decided to review an album that has been on my radar for a long, long time: Deathconsciousness. Ever since I got serious about music, I've always heard about this album nonstop. I've especially been hearing about it once I ... read more

NxWorries - WHY LAWD?
80

These artists have to stop getting that asshole Dave Chappelle on a track. Why is he even here 😭

So, I actually haven't listened to Yes Lawd! before listening to WHY LAWD?. I probably should've since it's basically the prequel, but hey, who says I have to listen to the first album? I don't think it matters, though, because anything with Anderson .Paak is going to be good. And I did listen to some of Knxwledge's work prior, and they sound pretty dope. Unsurprisingly, this album is smooth as ... read more

Maruja - Connla's Well
90

That kid is me after telling people I like Death Grips

No intro. We're just going in raw and hard. Connla's Well is an absolutely amazing follow-up to the already amazing Knocknarea. Maruja continue to give us incredible performances with some fantastic instrumentation and stellar energy. It's again a very short EP, so there's basically nothing but fantastic tracks. Surprisingly, Connla's Well starts off with an actual intro, being the title track. While it's basically just a short intro, I ... read more

Maruja - Knocknarea

Maybe British people aren't as strange as I thought

Why am I so late to the Maruja party? 😭
I've been wanting, and I mean WANTING, to review Maruja ever since Knocknarea dropped. The number of positive reviews I've seen made are insane. But of course, my autistic likes it when I forget shit. But finally, since I have no school, I'm able to sit and listen to the band with no distractions, starting with their EP: Knocknarea. And HOLY FUCK! I'm speechless man. From top to bottom, this EP is ... read more

Charli xcx - BRAT

Green is my life now 🟩
Green is the new dream 🟩

Okay, so I haven't heard any of the singles released prior to this album. It just kept slipping my mind when I did see a new single release. But still, I was worried about BRAT because of the amount of mixed reviews of the singles. I thought Charli was going to downgrade her style once again, like on CRASH, which isn't a bad album, but I just expected more. But then the reviews and ratings started coming in, and holy shit. I have never seen ... read more

Original Review: Was this really made in a bedroom

Ladies and gentlemen, your boy just turned into a man 😤

Happy pride month, everybody :)
And yes, today is my birthday, making me finally 18. It's honestly a weird feeling, reaching an age where you're considered an adult. But it's also pretty exciting. Now, I originally wasn't really going to do anything today. I just wanted to chill and enjoy my day. But, to celebrate Pride Month, I did want to review an album from an LGBTQ artist that I ... read more

800 followers. Almost close to 1K. To be honest with ya'll, I never thought I would get here. I never thought of myself as an amazing reviewer, even from the beginning, so I always thought I would only be stuck around a decent 100 followers. But from the love I've received, I guess ya'll think otherwise. And for that, thank you so much. Thank ya'll for letting me be part of an amazing community. It's not a perfect community, but ... read more

Cigarettes After Sex - Cigarettes After Sex

Me after track 2:

😴😴😴😴😴😴😴😴😴😴

Okay, so do ya'll remember that friend of mine that recommended me The Great Milenko? Well, they recommended yet another album, this time from Cigarettes After Sex. Now, I have heard Cigarettes After Sex before, but only the track where they covered Motion Picture Soundtrack from Radiohead. And let me tell you, that track sucked ass. They completely butchered the beauty and hauntingness of the original and just made it a slow slop. ... read more

twenty one pilots - Clancy
80

Since AJR copies TØP a lot, I'm going to bet their next album will be called Charlie

Clancy. A highly anticipated album for most TØP fans and casual listeners, including myself. Now, the singles that were released for the album sounded pretty good, so I was expecting something pretty good and at least something on the level of Trench. But were my expectations met? Yes... and no. Let me explain. To be honest, this album is a big mixed bag for me. Some of the track on Clancy ... read more

Vince Staples - Dark Times
80

Vince, you didn't have to take the title literally. I can barely see what the fucking album cover says

Vince Staples. Undoubtedly a great rapper who's underrated as fuck. He may not be my most listened to rapper, but when I hear him, I can't complain. Now, after the disappointing and mediocre RAMONA PARK BROKE MY HEART, I was a little afraid that Vince was losing his stepping a little. It wasn't a bad album, but it was mind-numbingly boring, which isn't something I'm used to from Vince. Even ... read more

N1n0 - discovery
80

Thank you, @nino21321312312, for the recommendation :)

You thought naming your album after a classic would make me give this a 10/10? Well, you're dead wrong 😤

Okay, in all seriousness, discovery is pretty dope. I honestly wasn't really expecting to like this album just because of the cover. I'm going to leave it at that. Thankfully, though, this album is actually pretty well produced. Yeah, discovery is mostly just an ambient album, but it still has some nice layers in the tracks ... read more

Empress Insecta - Timepiece
70

Thank you, @Barchel, for the recommendation :)

Brief Review:

Pretty good. I honestly didn't know what to expect coming into Timepiece, but I came out of it pretty satisfied. The production, for the most part, has a nice blend of electronic and shoegaze rock, along with some pretty nice noise moments. The vocals are also solid, although they do feel like vocals I've heard before on other rock and shoegaze albums, which isn't bad, but it's noticeable. Some of my favorite tracks off the album ... read more

Hi-C - No More Heroes, Vol. 1
70

Shout out to @Wryyys for the recommendation :)

Anyone who listens to this album and likes it is a certified furry 😤

With an album cover like No More Heroes, I expected this album to either be terrible or fun as hell. Surprisingly, or unsurprisingly, I got the latter half. Despite this album having some pretty bad mixing and random ass shit happen in production, No More Heroes ends up being an autistics wet dream. In other words, the production is bubbly, fun, and goes hard, and Hi-C has a ... read more

St. Vincent - Strange Mercy
80

I got you, didn't I, Miguel? 😏

Okay. One more St. Vincent album.
Strange Mercy is pretty strange, alright. I thought St. Vincent couldn't surprise me anymore since I'm already used to expecting the unexpected. But God dammit she's done it again. Strange Mercy is yet another different sound from Vincent, this time really going heavy on the rock. But it's not some poppy rock album like I was expecting. It's not really noise, but it's pretty aggressive and harsh, and I fuck with it, and I ... read more

St. Vincent - Actor
80

Does anyone else notice that Vincent's right shoulder is missing, or is it just me?

So I wasn't really planning on reviewing anymore St. Vincent albums, but shit if Godga says I need to listen to Actor, then I have to do it, and I'm glad I did. For an album released 15 years ago, Actor hasn't aged badly at all, which is pretty insane since most albums and songs from this era sound almost unlistenable. But with Actor, if you told me this was released this year, I wouldn't bat an eye. It sounds ... read more
