We all seem to have gotten the same recommendation from the same guy, but none of us are complaining, especially as Jazz Rap lovers, this is a beautiful and wonderful execution of it, with lovely made lofi type instrumentals throughout together with some deep calm flowing lyricism, when listened to are here to offer some beauty tales of living, I do love those messages and when its told in such a beautiful presentation it's untouchable. flowing lyrics with complementary beats, just as life ... read more
Man I've missed this guy, certainly a different vibe going on here, more slow, more indie rock background then hip hop, I won't lie, it's not terrible but I'm not exactly blown away, if the next project is focused on this sort of sound and vibe I don't see myself enjoying as much as the others.
Yeah, very much an enjoyer of carti's sound, a lot of his hate here is just a trend, you're not different for doing so, this contains easily some of my favourite tracks he's produced and it also displays some bias when it comes to some artists to others, I love Kendrick myself but giving backdoor and good credit higher ratings than songs like Fine Shit just is a massive display of it, it contains your main stream songs that people can enjoy with plenty for more of the regular ... read more
bloated and hard to begin and finish, didn't need 22 songs, some of the songs feel very directionless.
a unbelievable smooth 'feel good' indie album, favourites being friends and here & now, such a smooth and easy listening experience and has been on repeat various times, I can imagine heading into summer it's only going to hit even more wonderfully, if you enjoy your proper, sun is out, life is good type music this is the stuff right here. Stuff doesn't need to be deep or dark or abstract. Sometimes in life you need this good simple sound that Cassia have provided here, ... read more
A Fantastic sneak into the next album, I'm super stoked for it, though I did give some time before leaving a review to allow some more recency bias to fade, still undoubtedly a fantastic song, though I feel it would happily fade and set into the likes of Scrapyard and not receive the insane reviews it's been given, but I understand its a song leading into a long awaited album.
A fantastic great focus of Nu & Smooth Jazz here moving most hip-hop aspects to the side, Hiroto's collection here is a beautiful collection of peace, expected result of thought out, high detailed layers of blissful listening, a slow and gorgeously paced project, every song here is nothing short of beautiful and allows peace in your mind. Masterclass.
A phenomenally produced Jazz and Hip-hop album, a project to jam to, to relax to, you could be nodding your head in the car to closing your eyes and laying down to enjoy the layers of production in each song. Of course seeing Shing02 feature in here was a absolutely wonderful delight and South Side to me to me outclasses a few of the collaborations Shing had with the late Nujabes, a phenomenal song, a phenomenal album that is right down my own personal alley. There is a word I always and will ... read more
Untouchable, this is Hip-hop in purest essence, it's as if this was made back in the prime years, like they never left, the true proof that hip-hop thrives untouched, when you stick it to its purest root, to where even in more modern era it has its place, it is wanted, it is welcomed and loved, this sound and style should never leave the world, we need it.
Flowed so hard I thought I was listening to a 48 minute song.
Central Cee sticks to his roots, though it seems his roots are not for everyone, UK Drill's sound certainly isn't easy to make popular mainstream, it's pretty much full of everything you'd expect from Cee. If UK Drill is something you enjoy then theres nothing wrong here, GBP is a banger.
very more substance than its other counterpart, wonderfully bliss
Probably Recent Bias as all hell, but this right here is my Album of The Year, this is magnificent, this is a splash Kendrick just having fun with it and it's an absolute energy that has me head nodding like crazy, with the splashes of those more deep beautiful songs, reincarnated is something else, yet its all flowing its all going one after the other its never a song out of place, I'm already seeing mixed opinions about songs. I don't got a least favourite, but gloria, man ... read more
Personally a preference over this to Mm Food and just behind Madvillainy. This is album with a special crafted image and world to it, every beat and approach to its lyrical approach all adds onto this image of the black and white filtered, dangerous ally ways where maybe you can find safety in random bars and clubs that have a simple sign over a door entrance. It all feels more grounded and I want to say dirty. There's a special vibe and atmosphere to this album that is consistent ... read more
Every album of Kendricks has such a unique identity and all identities are so beautifully crafted and presented, they all tell they're own separate stories and lessons. Mr. Morale is very much no different though I think it has a mixed approach in its songs to appeal to both a bigger mainstream audience with and then to his more tight knitted fanbase who look for those more deeper meaningful songs, I think there is something in here for everyone, you will walk away connected to at least ... read more
a rollercoaster of oh shit we back oh shit nevermind.
It has Old Uzi elements which was the promise, but let's not act like old uzi was perfect and he's brought back a lot of the boring parts of his older style a lot of nothing a lot of repetition, nothing to note, not even catchy, for the most part the 5 songs I actually like are the ones that are more unique and differing, the rest feel like sad attempts to bring something back that has clearly been forgotten.
Certainly a phenomenal album, with some of the most iconic songs in hiphop here, a phenomenal collection of recipes from the madvill, though I would say the special recipes and some of the entrees for me personally throw me out from giving it as an album a skyrocket score, but when you think of MF DOOM and his style of rhyme, so many of these songs come to mind as examples of his genius.
