Third World - 96° In The Shade
80

Yea it's pretty good

Bad Brains - I Against I
100

Over the years this has steadily become one of my favorite albums of all time. Here's why

Jimmy Cliff - Struggling Man
85

One of Jimmy's better records, I particularly enjoyed the title track and the ballad-heavy second side contains some of his best slower tunes. Now if only they'd put the whole thing on streaming

Eddy Grant - Walking On Sunshine
90

Hearing this for the first (and second) time today was genuinely one of the most fun experiences in music discovery I've had in a long time. Such a good record, the first side is perfect

Jimmy Cliff - Special
55

While little to nothing on here is downright bad, little on here is actually all that great. Definitely one of his more underwhelming outings.

Favorites: Peace Officer, Where There is Love

Steel Pulse - True Democracy
85

Sonically, this album is definitely a bit dated. The songs themselves however add up to make one of the finest reggae offerings of the 80s

Black Uhuru - Red
80

Is it a bit samey? Sure. But the power and passion found throughout its relatively short runtime cannot be denied

Jimmy Cliff - Unlimited
90

A hidden gem among many hidden gems in Cliff's discography, Unlimited is perhaps one of the finest offerings he ever committed to tape. Many of the best tracks are in the first half, but nothing on here is bad at all. Glad I finally got around to this one

Favorites: Under the Sun Moon and Stars, Black Queen, Oh Jamaica, Commercialization, The Price of Peace, Born to Win

Primitive Man - Observance
100

Everything you could possibly want from Primitive Man at this point in their career, distilled into 68 soul-crushing minutes.

Favorites: yes

Hayden Pedigo - In the Earth Again
70

I wanted to like this a lot more than I actually do, but I still think it's a pretty good collaborative record. Maybe nothing to write home about though.

Favorites: Demon Time, Radioactive Dreams, A Tear for Lucas

Brandi Carlile - Returning to Myself
80

Perhaps her most vulnerable work yet.

Favorites: Returning to Myself, Church and State, You Without Me, No One Knows Us

NGHTCRWLR - OZ
70

The dancy parts rule

Favorites: OZ, Madhouse, Lifeblood

Faetooth - Labyrinthine
65

A haunting yet somewhat dull take on doom metal.

Favorites: Iron Gate, Mater Dolorosa, Meet Your Maker

Indeyevid - Audacity of Authenticity
80

Passionate, exhilarating, and utterly captivating. Some of their best songs to date are on this one.

Favorites: Operation Peace, Far Fetched, All Bite No Bark

Conjurer - Unself
95

Combining the experimentation of the last record with the sheer ruthlessness of their first, this is their best work yet.

Favorites: Unself, All Apart, The Searing Glow, Foreclosure

Rolo Tomassi - In The Echoes Of All Dreams
75

Rolo Tomassi is a really good band, but I can't help but feel they've been chasing the highs of TWDALWBI since that album came out. I still like what they've done since, but I haven't been blown away by any of their work in years. This short and sweet EP is no different.

Favorite: Dead Language

Ryan Cassata - Greetings From Echo Park
70

One of the most sincere records I've heard all year.

Favorites: I feel like throwing up, if you ever leave long island, halfway house

Behemoth - The Shit ov God
70

Yes the lyrics are terrible, but it's still a fun album to listen to

75

Say what you will about Ghost Bath, but this album is still pretty good

bulletsbetweentongues - Fragility
70

I like the part with the screaming

"As someone who loves both Converge and Daughters I'm genuinely wondering where on earth you pulled that comparison from. Aside from both being abrasive hardcore-based albums and using high pitched screaming vocals I really dont hear any similarities"
