Pt. 8: he likes his smart girls
As a whole album this is probably the most I’ve enjoyed a Weezer album since Maladroit. It avoids the really bad sounding stuff, even the worse sounding stuff is really catchy, so especially after Raditude and most of Red and Make Believe it was a welcome surprise.
Fav song: Hang On
Least fav: Where’s My Sex
Part 6: he has a cool hat on this one
Again kind of what one expects of a Weezer album at this point. For the most point, that is. I expected it to be quite the terrible album based on what the opener sounded like, only to be immediately slung into one of my favorite post-Pinkerton songs from the band thus far. Most of the rest of the album is okay, even if Thought I Knew and Cold Dark World just seems sort of out of place. The final track on the album is also really good.

One of my hottest takes probably but this really isn’t bad at all. It starts off kinda meh sure, and A Sky Full Of Stars feels very awkward and forced into the tracklist, but other than that it has pretty great production, I don’t care that it doesn’t sound like a ”traditional” Coldplay album. For some reason it just works for me, also I’d consider O and Midnight to be top 20 Coldplay songs, fite me

What to say about this? Well, sounds like what one would expect from a collab between these two, concept is pretty interesting, instrumentally it’s very cozy and autumn-y and was released at a pretty much perfect time. I enjoyed the album for the most part.
Fav song: Cimmerian Shade
Other songs I liked a lot: Reach Out, The Pillar of Souls, Beginner’s Mind, Murder and Crime, (This Is) The Thing, Lost In The World, Fictional California, Lacrimae
Least fav: Lady MacBeth in Chains
Part 5: the infamous Pitchfork .4
I’ve heard a bunch of stuff about this album and how it’s supposedly the worst thing they’ve put out but uh, it’s just mid, sure it has a few tracks that stick out as being particularly bad like We Are All On Drugs or Freak Me Out but most of it is just kinda bland, lyrical wise it’s definitely a let down but on a few of the tracks the instrumentals are catchy enough to make up for it
Fav song: Perfect Situation

This is an odd album to me in that it’s consistently good all the way throughout but doesn’t really have many standout moments. Just a vibe album in general. Would recommend.
Fav song: MANIFESTO
Least fav: WUSYANAME
Well… this was astonishing. I’m happy this has gotten the response it has, giving it’s one of the greatest albums I’ve heard this decade. Whilst not a 10 in my eyes, the album lacks any bad tracks and was a great thing to sit through. Lyrics wise, rapping wise and production wise this is glorious all throughout and filled with a wide range of emotions

Donda Donda Donda Donda Donda Donda Donda
Okay, now that this has actually been out for a while (which still feels kind of surreal given how long it felt like it was never dropping), what is there to say about Donda?
Well, in the end I was quite pleased with it. It's far from a masterpiece though, and I'd most likely be disappointed if I was given this immediately after seeing that dude's reddit post about the Vegas party where he practically described it as the best thing Ye has done since ... read more
It’s a fun EP and really good for the first four songs but holy fuck does the final track fucking ruin it lmao
Fav song: Never Enough
Other songs I loved: In My Arms, Another Level
Least fav: Seduction
Part 4: that one album with... uh... something
All in all a mixed bag but imo a far better album than Green. Still got a lot of skips though, especially early on in the album. I was however impressed with some tracks which I think hold up to the first two albums.
Fav song: December
Other songs I liked a lot: Death and Destruction, Burndt Jamb
Least fav: Dope Nose
It’s mostly very different from the usual Fleet Foxes sound but it was still okay, especially for a debut release, will probably come back to these in the future
Fav song: Icicle Tusk
Least fav song: In The Hot Hot Rays
could have been good but what the actual fuck is those sound effects over the whole track, makes it borderline unlistenable
Part 3 of 15: hip hip
yeah idk what I expected, one notable downgrade from the previous two is that well, at least half of these songs are inseparable in that they’re pretty much the same song
Fav: Island In The Sun
Least fav: Hash Pipe

This might only be about 27 minutes, but felt longer - not because it is bad, but they manage to fit so much stuff into the very short timeframe and well, sometimes it sounds really good, other times it’s borderline unlistenable, but overall it was still an okay album, and I especially think it picks up towards the end with the more ’heavy’ tracks

weezer part 2, was recommended to check the rest of them out
I like this one for the same reasons as the blue album, if anything I’d say the good tracks on this one are better than those on the blue album, I really liked the lyrics and narrative on some of them. However, there were also more tracks on this one I didn’t really like than there were on the blue album, hence the lower score.

The first couple singles from this album far from impressed me, and so, going into this album I didn’t expect much, but, I’d say I’m impressed. It starts off really well with Paprika which instantly caught my attention and is probably one of my fav songs this year so far, has some short but nice songs towards the middle, and finishes off very strong, overall a good album even though some songs appealed less to me

It was an enjoyable listen overall and the ”old tv performance” type narrative was quite interesting to me, and fit in well with the music. However, on the contrary nothing on the album really stood out to me that much.
Fav song: Drops in the Lake
Other songs I liked a lot: I Lied, Twenty Long Years
