Can the singer actually sing properly? It's like he made sure to get punched in the throat 20 times before he started singing on this thing. I mean I'd rather hear an old ass man with pneumonia sing Ave Maria than whatever this garbage is. Whatever, at least he's pretty hot.
I really love where they went with this album, especially since Comedown Machine was such a drag in comparison to their earlier stuff. It feels like each song was really chosen to be on this thing, rather than just thrown on to reach 11 songs. Each song feels so special too, I mean by the time I reach 'Ode To The Mets' I just wanna listen to it again. Julian sounds like he actually cares on this thing, too, which is great.
This is the album that started my love for music, basically. It would ... read more
One of the strongest openings I've heard to an album I didn't think I'd like. I really like her delivery, even though I'm kinda bored of the whole distraught-pop-singer-whos'-finally-taking-their-life-back type thing, but she sounds pretty good on this album, like she's actually a person. I know right, what a compliment, but there are too many boring ass pop singers who play the same "heartbroken" schtick every time they can (see : Lewis Capaldi). But yeah, this is pretty solid, if ... read more

I've been listening to this more and more as my life has been getter slightly better and slightly better. Originally, my problems with this album was just that eventually everything would be erased the moment I would listen to something else, but that's changed now, which is pretty good. But yeah, there are too many sweet moments on this album to call it anything other than pretty damn great.
I mean, I've started running again.
It's like I'm suspended in limbo or something. I am nothing but ears, and this is playing behind me.
This album makes me think about things. Not in a bad way, though, as if I now have an opportunity to really be a part of my life. Most of us probably find it harder to think with stability (I mean, that's why we obsess over music), but this album provides that stability quite well. It isn't the best thing I've heard, but it's new enough to make me love life for a brief second, or at least the ... read more
Hey look David Byrne is happier. This album is really nice, and you guys all think it's like the worst shit. It's 1988, and everyone is focused on anger and sex and stuff, meanwhile this album is talking about flowers and nature and stuff. It's happy, and that is a crime on this damn site.
While I listen to this I'm thinking about all of their other albums. Remain In Light is obviously better, and everything else is also that, but this album has too much niceness to it to simply regard it as ... read more
