t’s kinda hard write this review.
I have never been his greatest fan, because when I got into italian rap he was already shifting his career into a more pop sound,so I was never very interested in his music.
despite this, I really enjoyed his last projects,”17” with Jake la Furia and “Keta Music vol.3”, so I was really hyped for this record.
unfortunately,this isn’t a good record
musically speaking,a good half of this album is filled with boring and very ... read more
I usually write a review right after listening an album, but with this one I decided to wait a little bit.
the word that I think could describe better this album is “relatable”.
like, this album is a quite accurate description of the past two years of my life.
so it’s quite hard to write an even review, but I would try.
Saba is a great writer and he proves it with this album.
he’s also a very versatile rapper, and in this album he utilises different flows and vocal tones ... read more
Italian iconic producer and former member of the Dogo Club Don Joe made is return into the italian scene with “Milano Soprano”,an album dedicated to the beautiful city of Milan and his rap scene.
producer albums have always been a trend in italy.
and the production on this album are really good.
Don Joe is one of the most talented producer in our country, and he proved that once again with this album.
I really loved all the work that he has done to make sure that every rapper gets ... read more
another project from an artist from the “new generation”. this time in reviwing the first EP from the turin-based artist Diss Gacha.
the five-track EP is pretty solid.
the sounds are catchy and danceable, with a lot of summer vibes. all the production by Sala are good.
lirically he isn’t the most deep and complex writer of all time, but his style of writing and his style of rapping matches very well with the tone of his music.
I would say that I expect a lot from this ... read more
Finally.
after years of waiting, finally we have a decent project from an upcoming italian rapper.
I have discovered this guy with his Real Talk Freestyle(for the non-italians,basically LA Leakers) and I really enjoyed his dark and raw style and his unique voice
I didn’t listen his previous album,”The Globe”(I’ll probably check it soon),and I didn’t listen to the eponymus single either, but I was still very hyped.
the album is entirely produced by great italian ... read more
I discovered billy woods a few months ago while re-listening to “SICK!” by Earl Sweatshirt.
the verse that billy give us on “Tabula Rasa” was fire, and I wanted to learn more about him.
so after reading his story and listening to two great albums like “Haram”(a joint with E L U C I D and The Alchemist) and “Aethiopes”,billy became one of my most listened artist.
I was very happy seeing that he would have drop a new album.
I probably never heard ... read more
it’s probably the first time Conway disappoints me.
I didn’t really get too involved by the rollout, and I misserai half of the singles of this album,so I went in with high expectations…and damn I’m underwhelmed.
there are a few highs(mainly “Quarters”,”Brucifix” and “Brooklyn Chop House”) but the lows are deep lows. like titanic level lows.
productions are good, the average Griselda beats.
but I think that the main problem is that ... read more
I finally decided to listen to this album.
I waited so long because I have never been a huge JPEGMAFIA fan and I wasn’t very interested in this.
but now that I feel a little bit better I have a shot to this joint.
first thing first, the cover is SICK. like is freaking awesome.
now,the album itself.
I enjoyed more the second part than the first one,but after a slow start this album is really flawless.
Peggy is a genius. There are some brilliant productions on this album, and this is ... read more
Lacks a bit of consinstency in the second half, but great nostalgic productions and outstanding performances by all Lovegang126’s members create a great album.
probably best italian album so far this year.
Alchemist is a great producer, but sometimes I dislike his productions because they are too heavy.
Domo is a great rapper, in my opinion only behind Earl inside OF. He spits some great verses and even if it was younger,he already was a great lyricist.
Very good features, with outstanding performance from Earl,Freddie Gibbs and Tyler.
Overall a good project.
a very interesting album.
being a part of the project “Maker Rap Great Again” started by italian rapper Gionni Gioielli, the debut album by milan based rapper RollzRois is very fun to listen.
he’s probably one of the first rapper in italy to utilize the Griselda’s style of rapping and production, and he himself cited Conway as one of his influences.
all the tracks are produced by RollzRois himself, with some brilliant samples(“Cash Rules Your World” has one of ... read more
This album is production-wise one of the best thing I’ve ever heard.
The Alchemist mantain is original and unique style while letting shine the two MCs.
The lyrics are truly powerful.
billy woods is probably one of my favourite rapper right now.
Overview,I really enjoyed this project.
Its damn good.
It’s simple,short,raw but still a great album.
If this is “horrible”,75% of last year Rolling Stone year end list is garbage
EDIT:
Son passati quasi due anni, sto piangendo mentre piego i vestiti ed ascolto questo album.
Ci sono così tanti ricordi
OG:
Beautiful.
It has a few bad songs, but it remains a great debut album.
“Nei Treni La Notte” is overrated, but still very good.
UPDATE:About a month later,”Nei Treni la Notte” is now my favourite song.
Clearly not the best project of the Griselda catalog.
“The Cow” is probably one of the best song I’ve ever heard, but the rest of this album is hella boring.
Conway did is best and I overall enjoy all the features, but in this album WSG had some really bad deliveries.
I didn’t enjoy the production and the mixing too.
Daringer is a good producer, but I can’t stand the production in this album. They are all kinda the same, too loud and repetitive.
I planned to write this review on the 8th anniversary of this album, but my life still sucks so I will upload It today.
This isn’t only a review of my favourite album.
This is the story of how I became the man I am today.
It was 2021,and I was in my last year of middle school in a 20.000 souls town in the Pianura Padana.
My only approach to rap music was something out the italian scene and a friend of mine who introduced me to XXXTENTACION.
I was a really lonely guy,and I wasn’t to ... read more
I really enjoyed this album.
I was a great fan of Slowthai first work,”Nothing Great About Britain”.
This is a lot different.
There’s less rap and more punk rock.
But I like the way he tried to do something new.
And some songs of this work are really masterpieces.
Depsite a weak mid-section, this album his a really good experience, and some songs are very well written.
Productions are really original, but they all sounds good and they all match perfectly with the emotions ... read more
