As a whole, this album wasn't for me, but the standout tracks were really nice.
Favorites: Demolition Man, Art Groupie, I've seen that face before
Least favorite: Walking in the rain,
THAT'S WHY HE'S THE GOAT! THE GOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT!
Edit: Upon some repeated listens the first half of this album can get very repetitive. It's still fantastic, though.
In spite of all the indie rock cliches, this album manages to pull through with interesting songwriting and killer performances. The vocalist sounds a bit generic but that's alright.
This is a lot better than I thought it would be. I'll admit that the beats are pretty decent. The thing is that Bladee's autotune-drenched vocals combined with his monotonous rapping style (which I'm pretty sure he uses for every single song) ruin any credit the beats have for me. His lyrics are hit or miss, too.
I don't like it, but it's better than the few singles I've heard from this guy.
I've never heard anything like this. Despite barely any singing, the way the vocalist delivers his poetry works perfectly with the instrumentals. Liked this one quite a bit.
It feels wrong of me not to rate this very highly, especially with how well these songs fit into the game. But, as a purely musical experience, there are only a handful of songs I find worth returning to. Those songs are BANGERS however.
Favorites: Castle Vein, Versus, The Fire is gone, Requiem.
Least favorite: Disgrace. Humiliation.
Strong crop of tracks here. I think layer 4 by far had the best, but layer 6's music was great too.
Favorites: Duel (reprise), Deep blue, Sands of tide
Least favorite: Dancer in the darkness.
It's fine.
A rerecording of their demos. I can respect it. Obviously, this isn't the type of stuff I'm looking for from this band.
I also just don't like thrash metal that much.
There are a few great songs here and there, such as the opener, but as a whole, this album is very underwhelming. By no means is it bad though, I just didn't jive with it that much. "Glide" is pretty damn terrible, but "Llama" is a serious banger.
I can't find the words to express how phenomenal this is. It isn't because I'm drawing blanks, but because it has left me that speechless
This album is fun, catchy, and hopeful. It's appreciative of our world while understanding that it isn't always perfect, and for that, I find it special. It also sounds quite incredible.
Favorite: Turn To Stone, Big Wheels, Birmingham Blues, Mr. Blue Sky, Steppin' Out
Least favorite: It's Over, Jungle
I was not expecting this to be as good as it was. I never even watched the show I listened to this purely on a whim.
