I wish I liked this more, but it really just didn't click as much with me, I liked half the songs and all the songs were ok, bupyhe than Collard Greens, The Purge, and MOTY, nothing really stood out as amazing to me hopefully it clicks more as time passes
sorry this is just too good, I had to come back and rate it because this is legit peak. I swear post-2020 everything the Weeknd touches musically is golden (IGNORE THE IDOL SOUNDTRACK)
fun, I am happy to see Samara Cyn get a little more recognition from larger artists, but Armani White goes crazy on this one. will def be a banger in the aux
you know, this was really not bad, in fact I'd say it was alright. first leg had some amazing songs. I would say this album really thrived at the slower introspective cuts, and I am very happy by the amount of solo chance tracks, as in the past he has always seemed too feature reliant imo. but it gets really drug down by the middle area, where Chance and the guests seems to have some less than stellar performances and mediocre production. I was really disappointed by Gun In Ya Purse, ... read more
very good, I think it's slightly over rated but lyrically, sonically, and diversity wise amazing. doesn't feel dated one but, and has a lot of bangers, and Thuggin is peak music
this was definitely not the direction I expected but he killed it once again
the first like 6 songs made me super excited because he sounded so vicious. the middle section fell a little flat for me but it wasn't awful, I just prefer JID in his aggressive bag. then the last 3 or 4 tracks had some of JIDs best writing. i think the fact that this slowed the momentum so much and so long in the middle is what kinda holds this album back. if it were sequenced I feel as if this could've ... read more
the better summer themed album to drop today ngl
first off, this is how long all Year projects should be, this was like the perfect length. second of all, I like how he kind of leans more traditional than to his normal sound, tho it very much is a blend, overall a fun project and Years best album (tho ig it's technically ep, whatever)
this album just sounds like the embodiment of "hip hip hooray! we did it with the power of friendship and teamwork" 🥀
first off, I find it ironic that it's called a futuristic summa when is replicating the 2000s ATL style. regardless of that, this was super bloated and a lot of it was just ruined by the beats ngl. while it was trying for a throwback style, it quickly just sounded dated, and many of the melodies were just too bright for me. not to mention a few features that ... read more
Samara Cyn I think is the next up and coming artist, she shows so much potential for both singing and rapping. only thing holding this album back was the amount of skits and the actual amount of tracks. I have hope for whenever she drops a full length project. also she is lowkey the best female rapper out rn, ik that's a hot take but I truly believe it
very solid project, so much diversity and he stays consistent as well, along with very solid lyrical focus. banger album, I will be keeping a close eye on Vaughn's future
super concise, super consistent. not one bad song, not one good song, not one great song, only amazing or better. Gibbs flows are slightly better on this one imo, and not a single miss on production of features. this is amazing, what else is there to say
first half was peak, but second half went in a direction I wasn't super huge on. if it stayed like the first 6 tracks it would've easily been like an 85. also the fact that this was produced by Rick Ruben just further cements Ruben's legacies as one of the most versatile people in the music industry. same guy who made yeezus and californication and 21 by adele btw, which is a crazy sentence in itself
i was expecting to like this a lot less ngl. i think this has a few peak tyler songs, including his best song imo with Smuckers, but it also has some stinkers. honestly i really like the sound of this, i think some of the more abrasive tracks couldve been so good if the vocals were mixed higher, like i really liked the beat on cherry bomb but i couldnt hear a word tyler said. side note, Young/Perfect would be top 3 on the album if it weren't so weird to listen to, this gave me the same ... read more
incredible start to an album, first half was peak. second half was good but had some songs I wasn't huge on. if it stayed like the first half it would be like a 93. just some performances on the second half didn't feel like they fit
dude holy crap this was so peak, i didnt expect it to be this good man. Death and Taxes and Streetcar are both 10/10s, and Show No regret and Little Rowboat are pushing 10/10. this project would probably be closer to like a 92 if A) it was longer, and B) that one feature on paradise wasn't there (the one that was lowkey just yapping ngl), but overall very impressive project, and I am very sad this was not longer than 24 minutes
