Probably one of the most underrated metal albums on this site. What are my thoughts on it though? It absolutely slaps, I mean these guys just sound really goofy, yet they can pack a huge punch, and I'm barely scratching the surface here. We got songs like "Sick Boogie Murder", which has one of the most memorable riffs and moments on the album, and really one of the silliest, over the top death metal songs ever, if not the silliest. My one complaint is that the album can get ... read more
My issue with this album is rather simple: It just becomes kinda stale near the end. I love Hell Above, A Match Into Water, King For A Day, and Bulls In The Bronx, but as I go through the album, I find myself getting bored. The fun is in the first half, but the second half feels forced. That doesn't mean it's bad, like I completely understand why you'd like something like "One Hundred Sleepless Nights", but this feels rather standard of what I was expecting from the ... read more
The production on this song is some of the best the entire album has to offer
Now this is a classic right here. Even before I was a fan, I knew this song note for note, word by word, I mean it's just super iconic. "Is it a banger though, Custer?" Yes.
It has one of the best guitar lines from the 2000s, and one of the most iconic choruses from that era of alt metal. Ben's vocals are perfect on here, and the production is top notch. The meaning of this song is pretty interesting too, although a lot of people draw different interpretations of what the ... read more
Let me tell yall, I did not prepare for this record at all. My only experience with deathcore is Suicide Silence and... Ugh... S- Slau- *gag*... Slaughter to Prevail 🤢... And even with Whitechapel, the only few songs I've heard from them are the singles from this record. So, you could imagine me going into this, I was completely blown out of my bedroom, crashing out my window at a speed that light cannot comprehend. Easily my favorite metal record of the year so far, and I wonder if ... read more
Diamond Eyes is great, but I found myself liking the certain songs a lot more than certain others. I really liked the title track because it reminded me of Breaking Benjamin with the chorus and all of that, I also like the heavy stuff like "CMND/CTRL" and "Rocket Skates", and I liked "Sextape", but songs like "You've Seen The Butcher" and "Beauty School" are yet to grow on me. It's crazy because I see that a lot of people LOVE those ... read more
Dear Agony was going to be a very interesting record from the get-go, because this would be Benjamin Burnley's first album he'd write while sober. This would prove to be a very interesting record lyrically, as it seems like he's charging in and confronting his problems head on. This album was also written during a more difficult time in the band's life, as years after this band released this record, two members would end up being fired via email, and the drummer would leave ... read more
Breaking Benjamin modernize their sound here. Now, obviously their sound was already pretty modern, but it sounds... Refind. Yeah, refined is probably a better word. Either way, man, Breaking Benjamin sound even more grand and epic than on Dear Agony, and it really shows in the production. Just an overall improvement in that aspect.
The songwriting is still pretty on par with what Breaking Benjamin usually does, which is usually top class work, so it's pretty much fine. We got some more ... read more
Yet another record that highlights the highs and the oh so very lows of the modern metalcore scene. I mean to be honest if I wanted to hear melodic choruses mixed with ball dropping djent breakdowns I'd listen to bands like Spiritbox, but nah, we got Architects today. And honestly? Not all of it is ass, in fact half of this record is very good. The band still has that "bite" from their glory days, delivering top tier performances in the highlight songs that actually were worth my ... read more
Swans's first drop was in 1982. Let that sink in. These guys have dropped banger after banger since 1991 (in theory, not based off of my opinion), and they are still remembered and regarded as some of the best in the genre to do it. It is definitely not the same regard as something like "To Be Kind" or "Soundtracks For The Blind", but Swans's first EP shows their creativity and ambition from the get-go, even if it isn't all drone and random people shouting ... read more
Since I have listened to The End of Heartache, I honestly thought the only reasonable option was to continue my interest in the Howard Jones era with the listening of "As Daylight Dies". Of course I could've went ahead and listened to "Alive Or Just Breathing", which is goated apparently, but this takes my interest first. And I'm glad I took a listen to this. Easily one of the greatest melodic metalcore records ever made, this is a monster of a 43 minute record, ... read more

I think what really drew me into this album was their combination of pop punk and metalcore (easycore), and a lot of the choruses on here are absolutely glorious. Some of the best choruses in this genre actually, both metalcore and easycore, from the very fun "The Downfall Of Us All" to genuinely just great melodic choruses like "Welcome To The Family" or "My Life For Hire". Then you got some more hardcore and aggressive songs on here, like ... read more
POV: you just found your new favorite artist inspired by Bob Dylan and Johnny Cash
I'm glad people find enjoyment out of things I don't really find interest in. The riff sounds kinda basic but David's vocals don't really sound too edgy to me like on The Sickness. Even if the instrumental is quite basic this band is like 25 years in their career, so they can kinda get away with making just a kickass metal song instead of going big (which to be fair they've always been doing basic [except on The Sickness but we don't talk about that])
2021 nostalgia (i think it was 2021 when that meme was a thing i dont remember im too old for ts)
Some of this trap music is just too goofy for me to pass. My favorite thing to do is to laugh uncontrollably at something so hilarious and obnoxious, and this song was pretty much everything I needed. I remember that whole incident about him turning a guy into a convertible, and while everyone was absolutely devastated (refer to ArcherrSingles review), I was laughing my ass off. This song is so ... read more
When are we getting Supercatharsis Robb???? This is NOT what we want!!!!
This song is great. It expands upon what they did on their last album, and if you liked that record, you'll like this song. Robb Flynn's vocals are clearly worse than they were back in The Blackening days, but he's not Chris Barnes yet. It has a pretty great riff, and the drums compliment it well.
My only gripe is that this upcoming album is going to have shorter songs, and while that's probably fine, ... read more
How to write a bad song:
Write a song about not giving a fuck about whatever your haters think of you, but make it very obvious that you do care about it
Easy peasy lemon squeezy
When I heard the first bar on the first song, I immediately knew Future was the rapper for me.
I think it's fair to think I need more music to listen to than just metal. That's where Future comes along. I mean, I've had a level interest in rap, listening to artists such as Kendrick Lamar, Tyler The Creator, and Kanye West, but now I find myself being invested in this trap/cloud rap kind of sound. Future just does it justice on every single song. In fact, my original complaint ... read more
My fault for being pretty ignorant with this one yall

I can tell this wasn't written during Smoke + Mirrors' development. Smoke + Mirrors has so much life to it, like a genuinely good arena rock/art rock mash up. I mean granted there were some mid tracks on there, but this is just... No. There is quite literally zero way this was written the same time as the greats like "Dream" or "I'm So Sorry" or "Shots" or the title track. It feels just ... read more
"Koi No Yokan" was the only other Deftones album that really stood out to me; that and White Pony and Around The Fur. I like other Deftones songs, especially like off of Diamond Eyes, but it isn't all that interesting to me. Maybe Diamond Eyes was the precursor for this album because songs I've heard off of that record sound kinda like they were leading up to this point. Also of course I've heard "Rosemary", which is one of my favorite Deftones songs; which ... read more
