I saw them in concert last year and they played some songs from this album, and they were great, so I was expecting a good album but damn this was better than I expected. I really enjoyed this, more than anything I've heard from black midi. Very very unique and foreword thinking sound which modern rock music needs more of. The Magician is incredible and is definitely the standout song of the album.
Some of the best songwriting of all time. Lines from this album get stuck in my head throughout the day and the sound is wonderful. Perfect autumn album. My favorite song from this album is probably The Stranger Song, but every song is great. Suzanne perfectly captures the feeling of love in a song, and I love the Jesus was a sailor portion of the song as well. All around great album with amazing lyricism. Keeps growing on me with every listen.
Immensely powerful album which is on par with or superior to many Swans albums. I grow to like and resonate with this album more and more over time. Every song is great, but I think it's a real shame Two Women isn't commonly recognized alongside many of the greatest Swan's songs like Helpless Child or The Glowing Man.
this one is insanely underrated. I was honestly more impressed by this than The Winter Ray, and that was with multiple interruptions during my listening experience. I feel that it's going to grow the more I listen to it. The first song is one of the most beautiful things I've heard. I need to move North to make my NSB listening experiences more immersive...
