I've lowkey always been indifferent about Yeat. He's always done enough to keep me intrigued, but never enough to understand the hype. Honestly, I'm surprised he's stayed in the mainstream, but he has a very dedicated fanbase and many connections. And once again, he did enough to keep my attention in the first half, but the inconsistencies throughout the 2nd half, combined with the length, don't help this album for me. I understand why some would love this. I will say ... read more
There's something very authentic, cozy, and warm about this album. Really well executed outros that almost saved most of these tracks, but I do value an artist's performance and voice, and their way of singing is definitely not for me. It's strained punk, almost, but if you like this style, I'd give it a listen.
BTS, the K-pop mega group, has returned, and I want to preface by saying I’m not a BTS fan, but I can admit that some of their previous songs are extremely catchy. Now, I expect this album to be dogpiled on simply because they’re BTS, but it's not a terrible album overall.
I do feel that there are moments where the vocalist's voices are overproduced, especially on a track like One More Night and throughout the 1st half of the album, which takes away from their individual ... read more
Really good album experience; the vocal effects occasionally broke my tolerance, but I really enjoyed it. Had this album dropped today, we'd be having a different discussion about Grimes.
In typical James Blake fashion, he brings a unique experience with his core/fundamental vocal runs. I thought it was really good. I wouldn't revisit the majority of the tracks, but I enjoyed the time.
Did not expect this to be how he came out swinging, and he occasionally surprised me, especially when there was a backing vocalist to hide the vocal flaws or lack of emotion in his voice. Production is solid and matches the aesthetic that Jack Harlow's trying to build, but WOW IS THIS A SNOOZE FEST. Maybe one of these tracks trickles through to the mainstream, but I really would not get why. Go listen to this style of music by someone else.
Good energy, and I get the appeal, but nothing blows me away except for Tia and Denzel's performances.
I can appreciate the slight veer from his typical consumable sound, but this just isn't executed well, very bland and boring. I wanted the tracks to slowly build up with some intensity. Hopefully, you mofos who spent an arm and a leg on his concert enjoyed it, or maybe it'll sound better live, disco ball floating above y'all.
Really unique and good experience, just would never revisit this project again.
It's Bruno, the king of consumable music. This will be everywhere for the next year, and it has good songs and catchy/addicting choruses, but as an album experience, it eh for me. DON'T EVEN COME CLOSE TO EVENING OR UNORTHODOX.
very generic and boring. I've never listened to her previous albums, but this puts her in the pop-bland box. If you are a fan, though, you may enjoy this.
(FIRST LISTEN) I appreciate Cole using his singing voice more; he's grown more confident in it over the years, but it didn't work on all the songs. There are some real lows and highs. I think it's always risky to drop such a lengthy project, especially with the simple production Cole leans towards, and I felt the bloat. It's really good, but not his best, and if you didn't enjoy this, I don't blame you, I AM A COLE GLAZER, but it's hard for me to believe ... read more
stock image ahhh music, sorry to the homie that recommended this to me. I think this is a classic case of music being subjective.
Not the genre I veer into regularly, and I typically don't like folk sonically, but I surprisingly enjoyed this one, good energy and lyrics.
sonically cozy and easy on the ears; I enjoyed the content on this album, but it lacked the energy of his previous work that I really liked. Would love to see where he goes next, and I hope he doesn't plateau as an artist and writer.
