Fuck yeah, man, we got TWO Converge albums in one year! And they're both great! (I'm keeping this review up until the honeymoon phase ends, then I'll revisit after like two weeks or something and give my final thoughts)
Favorite song is the title track
Least favorite song is "Detonator"
A really good debut! The music is whimsical and the lyrics display her personality so well. These songs have hooks for days. I'll definitely be paying attention.
Favorite song is "w-w-w-w-w"
Least favorite song is "set me free" (all the songs are good tho)
I'm just not built to da clerb. But if you're into club music, you'll really enjoy this.
Favorite song is "Magazine"
Least favorite song is "Sevastopol"
R&B might not be my favorite genre to listen to, and the album does start to peter off after a little while, but Ella has a nice voice for it, and if you like R&B, then you'll find some enjoyment out of this.
Favorite song is "There Goes My Heart"
Least favorite song is "Chasing Circles"
I know I previously said that "Adrenaline" was Deftones's weakest album, but now I'm starting to think it might be this one. It's still good, it's just the least energized one they've done so far. It feels like the band is kinda phoning this one in.
Favorite song is "Prayers / Triangles"
Least favorite song is "Xenon"
They just keep getting better and better. "Rosemary" is straight one of the best songs they've ever made.
Favorite song is "Rosemary"
Least favorite song is "Graphic Nature"
Grandpa has found his new calling in country music, and you know what? I'm glad he's having fun.
Favorite song is "You and I (Wave of Love)"
Least favorite song is "She's Gone"
Grampa's still got it.
Favorite song is "Home to Us"
Least favorite song is "Down South"
This is my personal favorite Deftones album. Some others might have higher highs, but this one is the most consistent one they've put out. Not a single weak link.
Favorite song is either "Rocket Skates", "Sextape", or "Beauty School"
Least favorite song is "CMND/CTRL" (like I said, there's no bad songs on this one)
This was one of Deftones's stranger albums, but I enjoyed it a lot... other than that one song. You know the one.
Favorite song is "Beware"
Least favorite song is "Pink Cellphone" (seriously, wtf was that)
This was lovely. It felt like that one day of summer back in your childhood where the sun was out, the breeze was gentle, the water was calm and crystal clear, and you're hanging out with your friends the entire day while the start of school was still months away. Just an incredibly cozy album.
Favorite song is either "Open Up", "Light Night Mountains All That", or "What's Right?"
Least favorite song is "Strange Love"
That's right, he put out one of the greatest country albums of all time on his first try. Johnny Cash was just built different.
Favorite song is either "Rock Island Line", "I Walk the Line", or "Folsom Prison Blues"
Least favorite song is "The Wreck of the Old 97"
As someone who is more familiar with Elvis's life story than I am with his music, this was decent. If I heard this as a kid, I would have no idea that he would have gone on to be such a massive force in music.
Favorite song is "Blue Suede Shoes"
Least favorite song is "I'll Never Let You Go (Little Darlin')"
Of all three of the Jonas brothers (or I guess there's four of them? IDK), Nick Jonas is perhaps the most inoffensive and therefore the most forgettable. Which also perfectly describes this album. Perfectly serviceable and completely undemanding.
Favorite song is "Seeing Ghosts"
Least favorite song is "I Need You"
You know, it's almost impressive. Despite this being by far Drake's shortest album (not even of this trilogy, just his shortest album he's ever made), it still manages to drag on to the point that it feels like it's an hour long anyway.
Anyway, I'm not impressed. Of the three albums he dropped all at one (WHY), this one is far and away the worst. I can't even say that it was at least over quickly because it doesn't feel like it was.
Favorite song is... I ... read more
It starts off okay, but it very quickly devolves back into Drake's usual shtick. The interpolation of "Cha Cha Slide" made me roll my eyes so hard that I gave myself a headache.
Favorite song is "Road Trips"
Least favorite song is either "Cheetah Print", "Amazing Shape", or "Princess"
I knew about and associate him with Filthy Frank, so it's a bit jarring hearing him like this. I've heard that his previous albums are better, and that's good, because this was just kinda dull. Of the 21 tracks on here, only 10 of them actually feel finished or like actual songs. The rest feel like interludes.
Favorite song is "Sojourn"
Least favorite song is "Love Me Better"
It's like listening to a YouTube Poop (not watching, just listening) while high on painkillers. Whether or not that's a good thing depends entirely on how you feel about jerk music, which I'm personally mixed on.
Favorite song is "Party at My Place"
Least favorite song is "Minute"
