You're getting beaten over the head with blast beats and screaming and it's so so soooo awesome
This album is consistent and takes on death in a way that leaves me comforted in a weird way. I wish I had more words to say but this album is so complex that my words cannnot do it justice.
NEW REVIEW: An uncomfortable album with a nihilistic and hateful attitude all over it. With themes of depression, self harm, abuse and drug use, this will be a hard listen for many, but those who can stomach what they hear will get an experience like no other. This album truly stands out on its own within Slipknot's entire discography. It sounds different from what they made before and what they made after. The instrumentation is near flawless and its sound is like no other album I've heard ... read more
I would give this a 101 if I could, a musical masterpiece that is better than to pimp a butterfly and ok computer combined. A piece that makes beethoven cower in fear.
The mixing and production on this album are fine-ish. The problem arises from the writing and who is behind this album in the first place. Melanie is self obsessed with a version of her that doesn't exist, never has existed, and never will exitst. She utilizes the pain and trauma people experienced to write a self insert story about being abused as a child and going through the worst events no child should have to witness or experience, the worst part is that it worked on appealing to millions ... read more
An album with exceptionally fun and entertaining highs but with boring and uninteresting lows. There is no song i would say is "bad" but it's clear more heart and effort were put into certain songs over others.
This is a no bullshit straight to the point album, your face will be melted off. I am currently being treated for 2nd degree burns in the ER as I type this review
This album takes what scum did right and improves upon it (most notably the mixing) and is filled with great lyrics, intense riffs and drumming and incomprehensibly messy and vile vocals
This album is entertaining throughout and is filled with great riffs and drumming.
Excluding the song "Goodnight", This album is loud, grimy, energetic and annoying. It all blends together to create one of the most hype inducing records I've listened to in a while. One complaint I will make is that most songs are a minute longer than they should be.
Me and my wife of 87 years celebrate our anniversary by listening to the song that kindled our love. That song is of course the one and only "Head"
This shit is fire, Don't put it out!!!!!
Its pleasant on the ears and is a relatively quick listen with some really good moments but this is definitely their weakest project and it strays too far from what made them great but not far enough to make it a meaningful shift into something new.
