Björk - Vulnicura
96

This is an artist maturing throughout their discography but the music already started off mature so we've reached a point where I don't even understand or relate to most of the emotions being portrayed.

Björk - Biophilia
80

In this LP Björk explains the egg theory and, no spoilers, but there is at least 1 breakcore segment.

The Who - Who's Next
74

More like who's next on the queue because the 3 big hits are carrying hard here.

Bright Eyes - Fevers and Mirrors
88

The songwritting is superb and unique. The instrumentals are always on point. And the vocals are always intense in just the right way. But this album, while every song is incredible, as a project it just gets lost in its own artistic vision to me. I was willing to let go of the fact that the intro segment makes the first track casually unlistenable, but the way they again break up the music with that huge interview segment just felt a bit too much.

The Beach Boys - Pet Sounds
94

It's like the beatles if they were decent human beings. Or not idk if these guys beat their wives allegedly or something.

Nas - Illmatic
97

Like ok the beats are incredible and his flow is making me wet and sure the lyrics are thought out and very coherent and I guess this was like groundbreaking at the time.

Simon & Garfunkel - Sounds of Silence
78

Yeah, I don't think this many people would care about this album if the sound of silence wasn't on it.

Gojira - From Mars to Sirius
95

This is basically a musical if you really think about it.

LCD Soundsystem - LCD Soundsystem
87

Dance Punk doesn't really describe the punk elements of thus album. It's mostly post punk mixed with electronic. This was probably meant for a much more niche audience than it ultimately reached and the band probably knew that, considering the meta lyrics and the fact that there is a track titled "Yeah - Pretentious mix". The originality of the sound was already hooking but the self awareness as to what they are making really captivated me. However I believe that even the ... read more

Death from Above 1979 - You're a Woman, I'm a Machine
89

This is the type of album that the cool alt-punk character in a movie puts on the car stereo and drives off right before the title drop and the track continues to play for the entire opening credit sequence.

Lily Allen - Alright, Still
81

Is it corny or ironic? Idk. I do know that if 15yo me had found this he would have loved it and that means something to me.

maudlin of the Well - "Bath"
87

Oh so we can just put slurs as album titles now. Ok liberals

The Smiths - Hatful of Hollow
89

I can't believe he wrote all of these songs for a male boy that he loved homosexually 🥺🥺🥺

Faith No More - Angel Dust
94

Is that a swan on the cover???😂😂😂😂 Patton thinks he Michael Gira😭✌ Oh it's not a swan? mb gang

PJ Harvey - Rid of Me
89

If I was a girl in the 90s (I'd be gay) I would lie and tell everyone PJ Harvey was my lesbian awakening to seem cool, but it would probably be something lame like Madona or sum.

Car Seat Headrest - How To Leave Town
97

>EP
>look inside
>whole ass album

Mr. Bungle - Mr. Bungle
79

Mike Patton was a pre internet gooner. My respect for this man can't get any higher.

Modest Mouse - The Lonesome Crowded West
98

The originality of the instrumentals and the songwritting here, is hard to describe. There doesn't seem to really be a running theme in this album, just feels like a flex of musical talent and creativity, with some pretty emotionaly powerful tracks mind you.

Björk - Volta
78

I really want to know the themes the album cover represents and the thought process behind it
