Norman North - Over the Influence
49

I almost feel bad for adding this album to the site. Is autotune country a genre? I thought the first song was a little catchy at first, but then the whole album goes from bad to worse. Each song sounds the same and just quickly got annoying.

Charley Crockett - Lonesome Drifter
65

A pretty big letdown after $10 Cowboy and Visions of Dallas last year. Kind of a snoozer! Time to focus on quality over quantity.

Antony Szmierek - Service Station At The End Of The Universe
45

It’s all just a guy talking over some house beats? The electronic music is just ok for me, but when you throw it all together it’s just bad.

Ghost Mountain - OCTOBER COUNTRY
35

I don’t understand how anyone could rate this
over 50. What is this? It’s like like the old monotone teacher from The Wonder Years put out an alt rap album half asleep! Couple that with boring beats. Every song sounds like a replay of the one before.

TOKiMONSTA - Eternal Reverie
66

Some cool moments, Enjoy Your Life is a really good song, a keeper! Corazon is a nice groove, Reverie is ok, but that’s about it for me.

AJ Mitchell - As Far as the Eye Can See
48

None of the songs really reach out and grab you saying hey, I’m a good song! Most of them don’t really work, album drags on and then his voice just gets more annoying.

Lagartijeando - 7 Caminos
70

Solid eclectic chill vibes! Doesn’t get much better than this for background music or it’s plenty fun to toss on the headphones and zone out to.

Wrong Way Up - Totally Right
81

Super fun album! I’m exhausted! Sure it’s not technical genius, just pure fun and groovy. I kept thinking after each song, I don’t know how much more of this I can take, like, it’s gonna get repetitive and flame out. But before i knew it, the album was over, 37 minutes of straight head bobbin’ groovin’ beats!

LAKE - Bucolic Gone
69

It’s like that Burger King sandwich with the extra bun in the middle. Bucolic Gone and Ferrari really shine to lead off, followed by two boring tracks. Love is Deeper in middle is decent, followed by how did the same band write the next three tracks. Wonderful Sunlight is really nice and gets the album back on track at the end. There are cool, almost genius moments of dreamy goodness, surrounded by afterthought snoozers.

Jason Isbell - Foxes in the Snow
69

Overrated album. Bury Me and Don’t Be Tough are good songs with solid lyrics. Don’t be tough actually made me laugh! I’m just not moved by the rest. It’s not bad, just one of those albums where you save a song or two and never wish to listen to the rest again.

Killswitch Engage - This Consequence
57

I believe is a great song, I could do without the rest!

Fust - Big Ugly
63

I don’t understand what all the critic fuss is about? Spangled is a great tune, but other than that, pfffft, snoozer, not bad, but nothing really good or special.

Annie DiRusso - Super Pedestrian
70

Pretty solid alt rock debut. First three tracks are outstanding and good-ass movie is cute play on lyrics: I want more of these tracks, the rest is average.

Lady Gaga - MAYHEM
87

Lady Gaga is more than back. This may be her most complete album to date! It’s 8:30am and i wanna hit the club!

Franc Moody - Chewing The Fat
59

Was looking forward to this one, but disappointing. Tracks 1 and 8 are decent vibe, but the rest just smells like stale air!

Magic City Hippies - Enemies
89

Favorite Hippies album to date! Enemies, Heavy Motion and Little Bit of Love are all 5 star bangers. The rest of the album rounds out nicely for a solid straight through listen. One of those albums that can take me out of whatever mood i’m in and put me in my groovy happy place, smile and make me want to dance!

Horsegirl - Phonetics On and On
90

Instant Classic, career defining album, on only their second LP! Sometimes doing something simple, stripped down, really well, produces the best results. That’s exactly what Horsegirl has done here, while creating their own unique sound. It is one that took me a few listens to get it, it’s different, don’t give up on it after one try!

Nightly - songs to drive to
60

Let’s start with the positive, the first four songs are great! It’s like that cheesy pop vibe you’re embarrassed to admit you crank in your car when no one else is around. After that, it sadly turns into that dumpster fire cheesy pop album you love to hate. Rating based on how much i really do like the first 4 songs, perhaps generous overall.

Deep Sea Diver - Billboard Heart
85

Must listen Indie rock album. One of those albums you listen straight through with no skips. Love the punchy guitar rifs in Emergency. Albums slows down in the middle, but really shines tracks 7-9. Don’t give up on this one early! At times i get an old Radiohead vibe on those later tracks.

Mike Posner - The Beginning
48

Overall this sounds like Disney for kids with swear words. His voice is downright corny a good share of the time with the exception of “Is it Just Me?”. I love the message in “Beautiful Day”, but that voice! Should have picked a different name for that one, I believe U2’s version is a tad better. Would have rated lower if not for the one standout. But seriously, all the best in turning your life around!

The perfect album loved by 100% doesn’t exist. What makes you the ultimate voice of reason for what my taste should or shouldn’t be?"
