Never been a huge Bon Iver fan, but loved Disc 1 and then Disc 2 was kinda blah until tracks 7 and 8, they got me back into a rythm.
Some albums just scream out, “BUY ME ON VINYL!” This album really touched my soul with its hard to classify blend of old soul vibes, rock, blues, country, and even low-fi at times. It’s literally got everything, a banger, chill, love song, as it moves a long like a chameleon changing up styles and vibes. A modern day classic!
Unique, witty, fun, groovy, an instant classic on their sophomore effort!
Half the album sounds like someone dropped their Smashing Pumpkins tape in the bottom of a lake, later rescued it, and is now trying to give it a listen. The other half is largely just bad noise. I don’t understand the high ratings.
Maybe one of the most overrated albums of all time? Be thankful for what you’ve got and Safe from Harm are decent, but a lot of this album is just bad. Top 100 all time Apple? What ya’ll smokin’🤷♂️
How is this album rated better than Morning Glory? What’s the Story? Only song that gets to that level here is Supersonic, which might be my favorite Oasis tune, Slide Away and Rock N Roll Star are strong, most are just ok
Hip Hop Hooray is an all-time classic. Ready for dem and Take it to ya face are decent. Not much else here on their sophomore effort.
Fade into you is an all time classic. Five string serenade is decent. The rest is kind of a snoozefest.
It’s decent alt-rock, reminds me a little of Liz Phair at times. I like 2,3,4,11 with 3/4 being my favs. Overall, the album just doesn’t quite grt there for me I want them to go bigger, bolder! Surprised track 11 doesn’t get higher ratings, hooked me in right away with the acoustic guitars.
Severely underrated album! Give it listen and time capsule back to the 60’s/70’s era! Even better live, don’t miss an opportunity to see them!
I slept on The Black Keys for years. This is the album that brought me in! Their 12th album and finest work to date! Perhaps the most underrated album of the year. It was actually the album art that drew me in initially, but the minute i hit play the music took over from there. Every song is solid. Love the co-labs with Beck and Lil Noid! Maybe the Black Keys traditionalists don’t like a little rap mixed? Maybe the album doesn’t hit as hard on the edgy blues rock side as ... read more
I don’t understand all the low ratings. Green Day is an iconic band of our time and this is easily their best album since American Idiot. An album full of bangers! Site is so anti anything popular and mainstream. I love and prefer my indie tunes as well, but can we please rate albums like this with some fairness and objectivity?
This album is so bad it might just push Jada over the edge to finally get the big D out of shear embarrassment!
Pretty good album, not going to win any AOTY nominations, but it’s not a bad return for the overhyped folksters. Malibu and Where It Belongs are the highlights. Caroline and Surrender are decent enough. I didn’t want to like it, but it was well enough to overcome that. Was a fan when they first came out, not so much anymore.
The Blue Stones finally hit their potential on their 4th album. Solid bluesy rock album with hard cutting tracks like Master and Kill Box. They show a bit of their softer side on Happy Cry and Falling Leaves, both solid tracks. The Metro Station interludes don't add much, but they do help set the tone a bit and carry the theme of the album, which i appreciate.
Been a fan since Yell Fire and All Rebel Rockers in the late 2000’s more rebellious phase for Franti. His music has matured and taken on a different meaning with a real good inspirational tune here and there. Love “Be Who You Are”, the highlight of this album. Break Up With Everything is a solid tune with a great message. The rest of the album is just blah and kind of a disappointment.
First three songs are great, then everything drifts off to some less inspiring state and every slow song blends into the next. Found myself getting bored wishing it was over, when it finally got really bad on the last two.
