A cool blend of jazz/funk, I loved what the Surprise Chef was cooking for appetizers. But the main meal was a tad late and never quite brought the delight of the appetizers. No doubt Bully Ball and Consulate Case are the standout tracks here. The album overall is still decent and warrants a listen. It has some unique qualities for sure.
Glorified elevator music. Maintaining my peace us a cool track though!
There’s just so much better chill bedroom pop type music out there. It’s all just bland and boring for me.
Can’t call this one overrated. Cool name, album cover, etc, lame album. Although I did finally find one Arcade Fire song i really liked, “I Love Her Shadow” is a great tune!
Long time fan of The Kooks. Couple stand out tracks for sure, but had to let the whole album marinate for awhile. Took multiple listens to come to a conclusion, The Kooks are indeed back!
I’m never one to side with critics, clearly i’m still well off their average rating here, but man, users need to give an objective listen and rating here instead of just giving the anti-critic bash. I mean someone even said they didn’t listen and gave it 0? There are a handful of really good songs here, “Focus is Power”, “If Not Now, It’s Soon”, and “The Deep Blue Okay” are all solid tracks with some good lyrics. Give them a shot! ... read more
Overrated. It’s like a poor man’s version of Yard Act or Gorillaz. Enough said.
The album is not great but there are a couple bangers. Check out Wildside and Still Dancing, save your time on the rest.
There are a few solid tracks here, ratings are off to a harsh start, must be haters. First few are decent and Mary Is A Singer. What kills it for me is Eyes To Big For My Belly. Really? That title is such a turnoff and the lyrics aren’t much better. IT’s a shame because it literally sounds like the coolest track of the album but bad lyrics + bad title = dumpster 🔥.
This is actually a great little hidden gem for a mellow rainy day! This Movie’s Way Too Long is the best track and a bit more uptempo in comparison to the rest, but A Lot Like Magic and The Western Isles aren’t far behind.
Covers album from long time folk artist Josh Rouse. I’ve been a long time fan, but this is not his best work. I dig somebody's baby, Only the Lonely and Rip it up. The rest is kinda bland and boring.
Debut solo album from founding member and co-lead vocalist from TV on the Radio. There are a couple of strong songs here, “The Most” and “Somebody New”. The rest of the album was a bit forgettable.
Check out Dub Vultures, pretty sweet tune. The rest is mediocre at best.
Was the title supposed to be bad music for dance people? Who can dance to this? It all sounds the same.
