If Swizz Beats and early '00s Kanye had a baby, this is what type of production comes out of that. This is a very spiritually black and super introspective album from front to back. I will say though: the first half of this album clears the second half pretty easily. Not that those tracks are bad, but John Michel just comes out the gate swinging for the fences in those first couple of songs. Enjoyable listen!

I really like the glitchiness of the production of this album. I think it makes for a really nice soundscape mixed with the more chill vibes that come from the slower tempoed parts. The only thing that's keeping me from liking this album more is that the album for the most part is a bit samey with nuggets of great moments (Yamaha, FIRE!, Automatic, etc.) and Dijon's vocals don't really do anything for me. I also didn't like that he was cockteasing me on the breakdown of ... read more
I’m not normally someone who’s a fan of 80’s music/80’s inspired music, but Doja Cat is a talented enough artist to actually make me like it haha. You can tell she really studied what made 80s music such a fun, yet sensual sound and I think it fits her extremely well here. She has also honed in on her songwriting with songs like Jealous Type, All Mine and Acts of Service. Surprisingly enjoyed this album a lot!

While not at the same level as the monumental “Invasion of Privacy” album, the gap between both albums is closer than what people will give Cardi credit for. She still sounds like her confident self, while giving us some new sounds sprinkled in between (Pick It Up, Bodega Baddie, Nice Guy, etc.). Overall, I really enjoyed this album!

I realized something after listening to this album: Chance and J. Cole have the same problem. They both try to sound super deep but it just doesn’t hit most of the time when they get into that bag.
While this album is better than The Big Day, it doesn’t really mean much when the album isn’t that great compared to Acid Rap and Coloring Book. I can’t even tell you a standout lyric from this album other than certain lines from “The Negro Problem”. A very much ... read more

While I’m extremely bummed out about Simz and Inflo’s relationship dissipating, Simz is gonna be just fine without him.

You know what? As bad as some of these songs are, they aren't the MOST offensive songs I've heard Wayne make.

Lyrics are insane but I don’t really fuck with the production on this one like I did with Vol. 1’s

Definitely an improvement from “In Pieces”. The 2nd half (starting at “Same Lingerie”) is exceedingly better than the 1st half tho.

Look….I get what Em was trying to do. But dear god did you HAVE to do it so fucking much in the first half? I wouldn’t have such an issue with the “purposeful cancelling” part of the album if the bars weren’t so goddamn abysmal. By the time I got to Guilty Conscience 2, I stopped caring about what Em was getting at.
