I really hope that there is an instrumental version of this album released eventually. The production on this is doing a hard carry for me, because I don't really care for James and Yachty's vocals.
Artistic maturation at its finest. It made sense for this album to come out 4 years after “boy lonely.” RUSSELL! has tapped into himself in a way that we only got peeks of previously (Loverboy, LOVELY., etc.). I really hope this album gets RUSSELL! the recognition he deserves because he’s absolutely amazing!
Favorite Songs: SUPERSTAR (THE OUTRO), HONEY, I’M HOME!; JUST LIKE CANDY, *DIAMOND RING*, am I enough?, HARTTBREAK
Even though there’s only a few changes, this feels like such a completely different album. I much prefer 3.15.20’s more abrasive nature compared to the more polished version in Atavista.
This nigga really got me c walking to a song about Drake being a pedo LMFAOOOO
I was originally gonna give this a 50 but the 2nd disc bumped it up lol
Favorite Songs: Jealous, All to Myself, Come to the Party, Mile High Memories, Gracious, Beat It, One Big Family, All of Disc 2
A couple of strong moments on here, but I wasn’t really a fan of the more singing type tracks
Favorite Songs: Understand, New Me, Got The Juice, Neva, Edible, Clap Sum, Never Lose Me
Other than the 6 EP, Kenny hasn’t really been impressing me much. The songs he’s been dropping as of late have been veeeery lackluster. Imma need him to tap in fr before I start to get worried.
Favorite Song: LUMINOUS
Overall this is a really good album w/ some great moments in between. I feel like it’s his best in terms of melding his different styles together since the IYRTITL days. As of right now, I prefer the 1st half more than the 2nd.
Favorite Songs: Amen, Fear Of Heights, Daylight, First Person Shooter, 7969 Santa, Bahamas Promises, Tried Our Best, 8am in Charlotte
This nigga just keep proving to me why he’s one of the best lyricists ever. I listened to this on my way to work and I couldn’t stop going crazy over how he just constantly haymakers you with bars so *effortlessly*. Easily one of the best albums I’ve heard this year
Favorite Songs: Michelin Star, Show & Tell, Smoke Break-Dance, 2004, ROY G. BIV, Pasta, Guapanese
Juicy J didn't add much for me but "I keep the 19 like I'm Leonard DiCaprio" is bar of the fucking year idc LMAO
Future and Uzi have great chemistry as a duo, but the majority of these songs don’t sound interesting.
Favorite Songs: *Real Baby Pluto*, Plastic, That’s It, Off Dat
While it’s not better than SSLP or MMLP, Em is still lyrically just as on it as those 2 albums. There’s also a lot of hidden gems on here too.
Favorite Songs: White America, Business, Cleanin’ Out My Closet, Square Dance, *Without Me*, Sing For The Moment, Hailie’s Song, Till I Collapse, My Dad’s Gone Crazy
This rating is really for the sped up version cause that shit SLAPS!!
I’m actually very disappointed in this release. This was one of my most anticipated albums for the year, and it didn’t really deliver how I thought it would. The songs aren’t necessarily bad; they just feel….safe….and bland. “Have Mercy” and “Treat Me” both felt like MOMENTS while In Pieces doesn’t really have any outside of *maybe* the title track.
