Geese - Getting Killed

This is the kind of album that has real potential to be looked back on as a landmark record in rock. To think you could top an album as good as 3D country on its own is a massive achievement, but they did and once again all my expectations were obliterated into a million pieces. Not only do we have the incredibly entertaining, wild, and beautiful instrumentals that we have in every Geese release, but we have a new emotionally potent sound that sounds like the natural progression of the band ... read more

easily the strangest single drop in Geese's career, but Im here for all of the sounds on this thing. Another banger from my favorite band

McMahon takes the most seemingly basic sounds and/or progressions and makes it completely unique with his incredible voice and knack for atmospheric experimentation

Geese - Taxes

I cannot come close to expressing the level of excitement I have towards Getting Killed being release. If this song is a sign of anything, I think we might be hearing Geese's best work yet. transcendent

MJ Lenderman - And the Wind (Live and Loose!)

This is truly fantastic. Extended jams, great performances, and a truly stellar vibe are all hallmarks of a great live rock album and this release checks all of those boxes. I love MJ's guitar work so much live, and I truly dig the energy that are brought to every track. This release also has my absolute favorite version of Knockin, its so raw and powerful and his vocal performance is top notch. Absolutely a must hear for any fans of MJ Lenderman's music. Also catch him live yourself, ... read more

"I think it's pretty naive to narrow down all listeners of this music to chronically online music fans and snobby critics. I do understand your point, but as someone who is not either of those things, I truly do enjoy the raw energy and feeling of these guys's music, and think that the style, while maybe not everyone's cup of tea, is enjoyable aggressive and technical. From a drummer's perspective specifically, I totally get off on how awesome the drummer in this band is. I think there is something genuinely musically interesting here."

On superhappytime's review of Stone Temple Pilots - Core
"Not sure if they cashed in. The sound is similar, but to me Stone Temple Pilots is it's own group and they have their own thing. Plush for example was written before the "big break" of grunge, so I think it was just a sound of the time."
