Its weird how a bunch of songs on here start out kinda annoying and then by the end sound so good. Lets live where the indoors and the outdoors meet reminds me of that poem berman wrote, he said something about like when the snow is falling the outdoors feels like one big room.
this band took everything that sucks about 80s pop music to the fairy god mother and had her make it all magical. Collapsed in front of the ocean when love breaks down playing. Once I drove around LA for hours listening to Bonny like every other song.
Listen on a hot day, fall into a trance. This is music to be sweaty and silent to.
I remember when I listened to this for the first time, i didn't really like it; then when Venus as a Boy came on I was mad that that song could make me feel that way. I ran back the album from the start and lovedd it. That was a wonderful day, I went rock climbing and then got lunch and coffee with my friends, and then we went bridge jumping. What more can you ask for in a day.
Getting old is a beautiful thing. When I am old I hope I will have a porch with a rocking chair that I can sit on. I will sit out there all morning. Maybe I will read a book. Maybe I will just listen to the sounds of the things around me. Hopefully there will still be trees when I am old. And animals too
i hate vegas. Whenever Im there I think about listening to She's Leaving You. Anytime I hear Kalua I think about Joker Lips. Anytime I think about the Mona Lisa I think about Bark at the Moon. Anytime I see Rip Torn I think about Rip Torn.
i like the sketches. the bear is pretty and the dino is sweet. i listened to sparrow one time and felt like my life was over. I listened to little things many times and felt like my life was perfect
so much style that it's wasting is one of those lines that defines who i am kinda
one time i listened to stella when i had just moved cities and i was walking around in the night. I saw a man smoking and turned around. light poles shone and i was not happy.
An album I listened to a lot for a little. bit. It's one of those albums, and that's cool. Why did NME compare this album to not Twin Peaks? why does everyone have to reference david lynch all the time. ur not cool cause you watched twin peaks bro. so annoying
I used to think this album was sparse. I was wrong. On Desire, the instrumentation has so much variety and each track is so different. This one on the other hand has a unified palette, focused on vocals. Despite that, the more I listened, the more each song stood out to me as being uniquely great. Caroline, Shut up comes to mind in particular, the blaring synths and Caroline wailing in the outro is maybe the best moment in her catalog.
An exercise in taking things to their extremes. Sahbabii isn't just from the jungle, he's every animal that has ever existed and also has fucked every animal that has ever existed.
