A reasonable filler release. Nothing special, though the concept on which the album is built off of (one oscillator being modulated) is pretty freakin' cool.
I love how the acoustic elements blend with heavier electronics in this album. It also inspired me to use more 707 drums in my own music.
No other album has managed to make the same drone interesting for an hour
EDIT: Listened to Swans. I’m sorry
A great, very entertaining jazz album. In very, very, VERY stark contrast to much of The Flashbulb’s earlier work (somebody knows what I mean lmao) this album is brief overall with little filler and that works greatly to its advantage.
An interesting piano album, but not an interesting Flashbulb album.
EDIT: 68 -> 75
The most well-produced album of the 70s, and essential to my progression as a musician (so I’m very biased). This rivals the end of Stop Making Sense for the best 7-track run of all time. Just banger after banger after banger. 1:53-2:15 on “I Got The News” is one of my favorite parts in any song ever.
An absolutely fantastic, phenomenal, incredible and extremely consistent album up until the last two tracks.
An amazing, beautiful, touching and technically impressive feat of jazz meets drill and bass meets ambient.
i am SO sad i can't give this a 100 because The Pot is seriously one of my top 5 metal songs of all time but dumbass Lipan Conjuring is so bad
A perfect ambient album. Concise and unique. Absolutely nothing bad I could say; yet, not all that interesting on its own.
