A large part of what makes an album good is it's ability to impact the listener. Therefore one would expect my favorite album of all time to be exceptional at it. This is the exact opposite of the truth.
I have never found another piece of music that makes less of an emotional impact than this, not that its incredibly ambient and has nearly no discernable features (there's really quite a few catchy moments on here) this album just has no emotional impact on me. Immaculate energy and feeling throughout, the album equivalent of going outside in nice sunny weather while blanketed with a refreshingly chill breeze. Nostalgic and pretty, nicely sold and creatively paced. The instrumentation here is great, always cleanly produced. The crescendos got me floating and the slower sections are at worst good. Subtly uses background noises and sounds (like flowing water or birds chirping) to add a TON to the world and feeling of the album. A lot of the releases so ... read more
