Muse once again took me by surprise. What a song! Its hella unique and actually doesnt stand out that much production and instrumental wise. It sounds like a funk and dance music meets rock song that doesnt fall short. This song is what i imagine simulation theory to sound like if it was actually made well. Speaking of which, this song reminds me so much of ‘break it to me’ but heres the criticism; The chorus sounds basic and the song title feels generic. I still havent yet ... read more
My dad had a copy of this album when i was a kid, I remember him always opening the cd case and closing it in a specific way which i now know was out of frustration. Any sort of ‘i like this and i hate that’ doesnt exist on this album for me. This album cannot be put into numbers, it was a personal album that didnt age greatly overtime especially for me but looking back, We didnt have much, money wise. Me and my dad werent some rich westerns with all the money in the world. We were ... read more
I mean, I dont know. Im gonna keep this review short because I just dont have much to talk about + too tired to talk, this is a pretty weird rock album. Glam rock , pop punk and weird 80s synthpop mixed together dont sound as horrible as it did the first time i listened to this album. But it really has grown on me alot since the first time i listened to this project in 2023. I think this still is their worst album to date but its a solid album for what it is
I mean, just wow.
This album was recommended to me by a friend and ive wanted to cover periphery’s discography for a while so,
Two birds one stone I guess.
This is my first periphery review but it sure as hell aint the last one, ive listened to a couple of their albums before but ill need to relisten. Omega was an album part of a 2 LP release (alpha - omega) the album starts with a reprise of alphas first track, and so we begin. This album might be 6 tracks long but it really does feel ... read more
They really went 2 for 2. Wow. Im just speechless, after Be with you i thought this was just another wotp attempt. This is their best song animals / liquid state from the 2nd law days. This album might actually end up in my top 5 right behind trinity and the 2nd law. The song itself is just, wow. Progressive rock song that mixes electronic and art rock themes. Its unique, its different, it doesnt sound like anything muse has done before and honestly the same can be said for unravelling. Overall ... read more
Today marks 9 years of after laughter by paramore and jesus is this album just boring and stupidly, annoyingly poppy. Before I actually go schizophrenic mode the lyrics on here might just be the best lyrics on any paramore album ever released, that aside theres really nothing interesting going on here except for the new wave meets dance pop instrumental.
The album cover alone shows why this album is so irritating. Pop is just not my genre whatsoever but theyve been doing rock albums ... read more
“Im tired of dance music so now were making rock” Bruh this IS a dance song. Fucking electronic pop song with guitars. Someone tell these shit pop artists that they should stay in the boring, h&m music genre and not force themselves to make something they have no experience in.
Its about time I actually gave trench a review, one that it gets. After the year worth of hints and messages from july 2017 till july 2018 we officially got trench in the fall of 2018, for a while I never understood this album, back when it released i only listened to a couple of songs off it and my first full listen was back in 2023. I slowly opened up to this album and now its one of my favorite 21p records, my favourite thing about this entire record is how you really cant put your finger on ... read more
I recently decided to relisten to this album when the lead single for sws8 came out a month and a bit ago, as a kid i was never a fan of ptv nor sws. And to this day i dont like kellins vocals alot but when it comes to this record, it was more of them catching on with ‘yeemo’ scene of the 2010s. Its a very poppy record compared to anything theyve done but it somewhat sounds good. Kick me, fly, better off dead and parasites are my favourite songs on here and I do come back to them ... read more
Holy shit. This song blows be with you and unraveling out of the water. Dont get me wrong unraveling is amazing but this song is fucking insane. Muse please continue with this sound throughout the album, it actually sounds unique and nothing like youve done before. If i can describe it; Its like black hole and revelations mixed with the 2nd law with a hint of something else. I love this shit so much and in my opinion? A top 15 muse song for me
This album sounds like a soundtrack album but in a really good way, I hate the fact that the deluxe tracks are better than some songs on the actual record. Hurricane, The calendar, And always are all songs i would trade for some deluxe tracks. The tracks being k eyes, turn off the lights, stall me and mercenary. Boom the album automatically becomes their best album. My big problem with this album is that its way too damn pop sounding. I really wish they turned up the guitars and drums on here. ... read more
It gets so stale so fast bro, with an opener like love from the other side it gives you so many expectations for the album that just simply dont exist for fall out boy post folie, i’m sorry but someone needs to say it. The overall album experience is fine, this album actually feels like a fresh breathe from the pop trilogy to a more alternative and id say modern rock sound, but with that same fresh breathe, a weird after taste comes through. This album is annoyingly forgettable. I love ... read more
This was my introduction to them almost 9 years ago,
thank you youtube music suggestions tab.
I havent fully covered their discography but I still think to this day that this is their best song of all time
Generic rock once again, I’ve been on the evanescence disappointment train since covid, the bitter truth was absolutely horrendous in the production department. They tried to reignite their popularity with afterlife (which worked) but that song left so much to be desired. I have officially given up on evanescence, half baked boring lyrics really make this song cringe. Where are the pianos? The literal thing that made that evanescence sound right along with amy lee? Im glad they chose this ... read more
I feel like i might be rating this higher than what it is. ill base that on nostalgia honestly. This record is inconsistent, fairly local, polarize, whats on tv, not today, message man and hometown are all songs that i dont come back to and some songs from that list i just straight up hate. But on the other side heavydirtysoul (jesus that song is perfect), doubt, stressed out, tear in my heart, ride and goner are all songs that are essential to tøps discography in my opinion. Especially ... read more
Honestly, I don’t believe that this is a flying hot take, but yeah. Vessel is my favorite tøp project. Its very close to being a perfect record except that 2 songs ruin that for me (house of gold, a good song but why the hell is a folky song in the middle of an electro-pop rap album?) and screen. Aside from that the record flows beautifully, beginning with ode to sleep (possibly 21p’s best song oat) to end with the piano driven truce. The screen-run and go-fake you out back ... read more
Have you ever heard an album that makes you go: “Wow this is an insane quality drop between albums” ? Behold scaled and icy, clancy is dead and so is the good music i guess. Stupid synthpop instrumentals and half baked annoying lyrics take over this record, twenty one pilots arent known for the straight forward good lyric department but its still so damn cheesy on here. I can count the ‘decent’ songs on here with one hand; choker, shy away and never take it. Redecorate ... read more
