The greatest band ever, here on 'Revolver' fulfilling the ultimate promise of band-hood, synergy. Perhaps one of the most over-contextualised Beatles records, 'Revolver' nevertheless sounds like a unit, one bursting at the seams (seams that would soon break) with spiritual introspection and musical ingenuity.

Foo Fighters - But Here We Are

Relatively weak first half (excepting the doubtless summer-repeat single 'Under You') but HELL, do those last 4 tracks swing... and hit! By the time 'Rest' rolled around, tears, just tears.

A more-than-solid Foo outing! The context around it all obviously adds to the emotional weight, but I'd argue a lot of the record stands on its own regardless; the emotional weight purely being the anvil onto which this hammer can swing.
