King Krule - 6 Feet Beneath the Moon
79

Most Aggressively British singing I've ever heard

Tyler, The Creator - Cherry Bomb
68

A clear step forward for Tyler's lyrical and artistic proficiency, yet the overblown production on many of the tracks still hamper the overall enjoyability of the album, regardless of whether or not the decisions were intentional or not

Aphex Twin - Selected Ambient Works 85–92
86

Absolutely amazing listen while studying; One of, if the THE most important Ambient and Techno albums to come out of the genres

Fleet Foxes - Helplessness Blues
93

Absolutely breathtaking, lush instrumentals that transport you to another plane of being, paired with fitting vocals that create a truly masterful album

Noname - Room 25
83

The jazzy, lo-fi style fuses with slightly more hip-hop influence than Noname's previous project to create a very charming and enjoyable piece of well-crafted music

MGMT - Oracular Spectacular
78

Contains some of MGMT's standout mega-hits, yet the groups debut lacks the consistency and quality present in their later projects. Still a very enjoyable techno-pop project

Viagra Boys - Cave World
90

Incredibly fun, surprisingly funny, and oddly clever in its social commentary

JPEGMAFIA & Danny Brown - SCARING THE HOES
93

Bombastic chaos in the best, most endearingly enjoyable way possible. Truly just such an addicting album, from the crazy samples to the infectiously energetic rap performances from Peggy and Danny

Gorillaz - Plastic Beach
100

Gorillaz at their absolute best, creating a varied, yet cohesive collection of endlessly re-listenable and quality songs

Kendrick Lamar - good kid, m.A.A.d city
97

GKMC is probably the absolute pinnacle example of Lamar's ability for quality, succinct story-telling. The album so perfectly captures Kendrick's childhood in Compton, matching his experiences with amazing and accessible tracks

Kendrick Lamar - To Pimp a Butterfly
100

Absolute modern classic of a hip-hop album masterfully blending jazz and funk into a stunningly complex and enjoyable exploration of African American history and struggles in the current day. Quality story-telling, paired with incredible lyrics and production make TPAB a standout not just in Lamar's discography, but of the hip-hop world as a whole.

Kendrick Lamar - DAMN.
85

A very quality addition to Lamar's discography that is marred slightly by it's attempt at a more palatable and marketable appeal. The themes and message of the album carry across very nicely, and most tracks manage to blend complex lyrics with catchy and very re-listenable beats. A couple of the songs deviate from Kendrick's usual style in ways that I don't feel fully landed but overall, DAMN. is an incredibly solid project that will stand the test of time.
