- Tate McRae's sophomore effort 'THINK LATER' is a rushed pop album that still manages to round out decently. Following the pop-singer's hit single 'greedy' in September and 'exes' in October, her album was announced for December. This record comes just a year and half after her debut record 'i used to think i could fly' and the two are similar in some ways, but in all quite different. This is a dark record, with over darker songwriting and production, strikingly ... read more

- Jane Remover returns with her second full length album 'Census Designated' and it delivers in every single way perceivable. This was my first experience with Remover's music and although many say that her debut 'Frailty' is incredible, you don't have to have listened to know that this is an incredible album as is. I didn't think that anyone would be able to dethrone Caroline Polachek for AOTY this late in the year, but here we are. This experimental rock/shoegaze ... read more

- After 5 years, Troye Sivan returns with a seemingly upbeat and electro pop record, ‘Something To Give Each Other.’ This record had a few highlights, however it felt a bit lackluster at times. There were a few standout tracks, but overall the record was way too front loaded. The tracklist order was a bit faulty in terms of a good score for this album. Overall not just my favorite record ever, not much other to say than ... read more

- Holly Humberstone returns with her debut album following last year’s mixtape ‘Can You Afford To Lose Me?’ This new record unfortunately falls quite short of its full potential, but has its moments where it really shines through. Overall a pretty hit or miss record, Humberstone thrives in the slower, ballad-type song lane and tends to struggle with cohesive hyper pop, electronic sounding songs. This record lacked cohesion mostly, but the production ... read more

- boygenius returns for their second EP as a group with ‘the rest’ which unfortunately felt like an obvious b-sides project. After having listened to ‘the record’ not too long ago, this EP felt like somewhat of a letdown and as if the group was not reaching its full potential, and that is probably because it is true. It’s only a b-sides project. Regardless, Voyager is a fantastic song and really carried the weight of the project on its ... read more

- Laufey's second record is a love album full of fresh jazz/orchestral instrumentation that all works really nicely together. I've never heard of this artist, but the album was quite good and does a nice job of providing something fresh on the pop scene in music. Though this record features nice songwriting abilities as well as impressive vocals, the songs tended to blur together at times and became a bit predictable. This is still a VERY good album and I would ... read more

- boygenius's 1st full length record as a group 'the record' is an impressive feat, but falls a bit short of my expectations. Still, this album was quite good and featured a few incredible moments production and songwriting wise; however, the overall quality of the music was choppy and slightly inconsistent from track to track. This album was definitely kind of hit or miss with a few really really great songs and some songs that I could've done without. ... read more

- Noah Kahan's 3rd full length studio record 'Stick Season' is one of the most masterfully produced albums I have ever heard. I've only known about the focus song Stick Season for the past few months and it was the only song I had heard from this album, but OH MY GOD. I'm so disappointed and upset with myself for not having listened to this album sooner. Without a shadow of a doubt, this is one of my favorite records I have listened to EVER. This LP encapsulates you ... read more

- Doja Cat's 4th record 'Scarlet' doesn't fall far from where her previous albums landed critically. A record with a few hits, but quite a few misses, 'Scarlet' comes up a bit short of my and probably many others expectations. There are still a few very good tracks off of this record, mainly 'Agora Hills' which has the potential to be her best song that she has ever made. Other than that, it becomes a bit of a snoozefest at times. ... read more

- Mitski's 7th record is my first full length listen for an album of hers, and I'll be the first to say that 'The Land Is Inhospitable And So Are We' is pretty spectacular. An album that is almost perfectly cohesive, does a fantastic job of displaying Mitski's songwriting and creative abilities. From other various songs I've heard, this record displays a ton of artistic growth. This album is a whole is pretty stripped back and acoustic sounding, but this is no ... read more

- Madison Beer's long awaited sophomore record 'Silence Between Songs' has finally arrived, and its composed of discography topping tracks as well as some meh songs. Overall, the record is pretty solid and showcases great cohesion especially in comparison to her debut album 'Life Support'. This LP felt a lot more grounded and real than her past work, and I think that led me to naturally enjoy it a bit more. The influence in a lot of the tracks is pretty obvious, ... read more

- Olivia Rodrigo you have done it again. 'GUTS', Rodrigo's sophomore effort is the follow up to her immensely successful debut record 'SOUR' which has gone on to become one of the most streamed albums of all time. Though I don't think 'GUTS' exactly the same streaming potential as 'SOUR', this record definitely outweighs 'SOUR' critically and content-wise, the just aren't as radio-friendly. This is a fantastic album and an absolute MUST for anyone who is into current ... read more

- As an avid and continual listener of Reneé Rapp who honestly really enjoyed her debut EP 'Everything To Everyone' it is safe to say that I was VERY excited to listen to her debut record 'Snow Angel.' But now for the big question: did it live up to my expectations? The answer is yes, in most areas. Rapp's debut record is a strong one, and it features several break up songs ranging from high-energy rock songs like 'Poison Poison' and 'Talk Too Much' to slow ... read more

- 'K-12' the album offers itself as a soundtrack to the film "K-12" by Melanie Martinez which acts as the continuation of the storyline of the fictionally created character Crybaby. Cohesively, the album is very put together and carries over themes from her previous project 'Cry Baby' very well. Though the songs aren't my favorite just in terms of likeness, it's a cohesive record with a reputable vocal ... read more

- Well, it's definitely an album. Travis Scott's newest record 'UTOPIA' features interesting production and a side of him that we haven't seen in a lot of his previous work. And then again, there was the side of him that we saw on every single other thing he's ever put out, so I have very mixed feelings. This record was definitely a hit or miss with some great highs like 'TELEKINESIS,' 'MY EYES,' and 'SKITZO,' and faltered with some really low lows on tracks like ... read more

- Although I believe 'Praise A Lord Who Chews But Which Does Not Cosume; (Or Simply, Hot Between Worlds)' is an unnecessarily long title for an album, I won't let that deter me from writing a decent review. For my first listen to Yves Tumor, I was mildly impressed with the uniqueness of the album, specifically the opening track 'God Is a Circle.' This is the perfect amount of psychedelia in rock to where it is pushing boundaries and at the same time not terribly ... read more

- This was such a fun project, even though I don't think it is always my listening style. 'CAPRISONGS' is a contageous and lighthearted record that is very raw and gives a glimpse into the world of FKA Twigs. As one of the most experimental artists currently, she continues that to no avail on this mixtape. I loved this and recommend it so ... read more

- Though this album is not exactly my speed personally, I think from a critical standpoint this album is pretty close to perfect. The production and instrumentation on this album is incredible and Lorde's voice grows on you throughout the progression of the tracks just as it did in her prior album 'Pure Heroine.' She sounds the best she's ever sounded on this record and having to listened to some of all of her albums, 'Melodrama' seems to be her magnum opus. The ... read more
