Tyler, The Creator - CALL ME IF YOU GET LOST

A very strong 8/10. Seriously pleasing record.

Favorite songs: HOT WIND BLOWS; SIR BAUDELAIRE; JUGGERNAUT; LUMBERJACK

OutKast - Aquemini

Crazily consistent for its length, though I think it should be a bit shorter. Great variety in sound and it easily levels ''ATLiens''. OutKast experiment with other genres like funk and country. The only flaw in the album is ''Mamacita'', the female vocal is just too repetitive and annoying. Other than that, it simply is one of the rap albums of all time. And for some reason, which I can't explain, ''Rosa Parks'' sounds so damn ... read more

Kanye West - JESUS IS KING

Gospel album with a lot of songs with corny lyrics that don't really fit into the subject matter of religion.

Favorite songs: Follow God; Use This Gospel; God Is

Kendrick Lamar - Overly Dedicated

Not bad for his first album/mixtape, yet it is quite long and seems all over the place. Though the songs below are severely underrated, seriously.

Favorite songs: H.O.C.; Ignorance Is Bliss; Barbed Wire; Growing Apart

Kendrick Lamar - untitled unmastered.

Surprisingly great and listenable. Nothing fancy, nothing too crazy, nice melodies and not too serious lyrics, as the title hints.

Favorite songs: 02; 06; 08

Depeche Mode - Violator

Nothing bad to say. Love how dark it is, without being depressing, it's beautiful in that sense, quite romantic. Only song that I had an issue with is ''Blue Dress'', but only because of how one line was sung, and it wasn't even bad. Violator stays loyal to it's vibe and doesn't stray away, yet the songs aren't repetitive. Interesting instrumentalization too, very enjoyable. This is what an album should be like.

The Weeknd - After Hours

His best album since Trilogy. Genuinely think that the only songs that lack here a bit are ''Hardest To Love'' and ''Scared To Live''. Not really a fan of the drums on ''Hardest To Love''. It's also his most radio-worthy album, obviously that was a clear goal. Really love the synths on this album. No real flaws.

Favorite songs: Alone Again; Escape From LA; Until I Bleed Out; Faith; Snowchild

The Weeknd - Dawn FM

Album that would be mostly flawless, if it wasn't for both of the songs with features, as both Lil Wayne and Tyler The Creator don't contribute anything special at all. Great disco and synthpop sound. Overall, still a very solid album with great lyrics that aren't too sexual and depressing. Nice transitions.

Favorite songs: Is There Someone Else; Take My Breath; Starry Eyes

The Weeknd - Echoes Of Silence
90

The last mixtape in the trilogy, which is about just as good as HOB. Some really sad songs in this one, so much so, that, as the title says, you can hear the echoes of silence. A really nice mixtape, and a great end to the trilogy. Oh, and an absolutely stunning cover of Michael Jackson's ''Dirty Diana''.

Favorite songs: Outside; Montreal; Next; D.D.

The Weeknd - Thursday

Rawer songs, not only a bit more emotional, but also more aggressive, a lot of electric guitar and hard hitting drums. Though a lot of songs level with House of Balloons, some songs comparatively lack, quite a bit, including ''Life of The Party'', ''Gone'' and ''Heaven or Las Vegas''.

Favorite songs: Lonely Star; The Birds Pt.1 and Pt.2; Thursday

Seriously great mixtape, and an even more impressive debut. A sound that wasn't heard before, it's refreshing and broad. Album that would later change the whole sound of RNB. Amazing. One of my favorites.

Favorite songs: Wicked Games; The Morning; High For This

The Weeknd - My Dear Melancholy,

Although the songs are very similar not only in lyrics but very much so in sound, the album lacks the special ''something''. But at the end of the day, it's an EP, not an LP. Abel only wanted to, almost, vent in it, sing about a recent breakup. I really think all the songs except Call Out My Name are severely underrated, especially Try Me and Privilege. Great breakup album, it just isn't as adventurous some others of his.

Marvin Gaye - Let's Get It On
90

A lot more alive and energetic, comparing with his previous album What's Going On. Although still an absolute masterpiece, it's not exactly ridiculous to say some lyrics seem a tad too sexual, and one or two songs lack the spice the others do, like ''You Sure Love To Ball'' (which is still amazing), but it seriously isn't that big of an issue. Still completely surreal.

Favorite songs: If I Should Die Tonight; Distant Lover

Marvin Gaye - What's Going On

Mind-blowing transitions and overall composition, just a very pleasing listening experience. The message and lyrics are also very emotionally in-depth and personal. This is what you call an ''album'', all the songs just go together beautifully. Perfect.

Favorite song: Mercy Mercy Me, and every single other one.

Kendrick Lamar - Section.80

Underrated in comparison. The album with which The Torch was passed.

Kendrick Lamar - DAMN.

Amazing highs, yet it's not as complete comparing with his previous two albums. Still a greatly made album, with Kendrick going all in emotion wise.

Kendrick Lamar - good kid, m.A.A.d city

Not a single skip. Real emotion, great instrumentation and energy. The album is so diverse in sound, yet somehow it just all goes together beautifully.

OutKast - Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik

Amazing debut album, doesn't even seem like one. Great lyricism, big variety in melodies.

Kanye West - Donda

Although it has a lot of weaknesses, for the amount of songs and part 2's it has, you can't complain, because these songs seriously deliver. Aggressive, spiritual and soulful. It's an album you will certainly FEEL, not just hear, and that's the whole point.
