While I really like the production on this album I feel like roc lyrically struggles keeping his head above water on this album. Though there are some well-thought-out songs, I feel like a lot of it falls back on lyrical tropes.

As I’ve been deep diving into roc Marciano’s discography I’ve been hesitant to listen to 656 as the mixed reviews and recency have deterred me a bit but nonetheless I went into this album with an open mind and enjoyed it a lot! Sitting at a trim 32 minutes this album is pretty short for a roc album but I think it serves the album well. In my eyes 656 pulls back a layer of production and pushes the limits of how minimal a drumless album can be. This allows for roc’s ... read more
I never thought I’d see the day jpegmafia gets under a 70 for a major project on this app
Edit: after finally listening to this album, I must say I'm really disappointed. I can't say much that hasn't already been said, but it's sad to see an artist ive followed for so long stray so far away from what made him likable to begin with. While the production value of this album is clearly high, I feel like nothing is done with it. The samples are insane, but the attempts to ... read more
I hate to say this about an album as much as I like roc marci I really didnt see the appeal here
Pretty standard for Boldy; while he and Nicholas Craven obviously have chemistry, they have so many better works that make "late to my own funeral" feel non-essential in their joint discography. I much prefer the second half of the album, where the sampling feels much more impactful and Boldy's lyricism feels a lot more punchy than the first half of the album.
Maybe its because I have limited knowledge of Roc Marciano's discography I was thoroughly impressed by this album. Every beat is so smooth and pairs fantastically with Marciano's cold deliveries over every song. Marciology is odd and beautiful it doesn't reinvent the wheel especially for what else Ive heard from Marciano but it doesnt have to. Bad juju and the title track are amazing

I'm so glad I still love this album nearly four years later. There's so much to pick apart about this album, but if you're willing to look past the grotesque cover, you will find some of the best songwriting and most unique production RCB has to offer. While often very nerdy the lyrics hit close to home in a way that makes the album resonate with me on a personal level. The instrumentals are packed with soul samples and used in ways you usually ... read more
This album is a great effort by both stove and Roc Marciano. With his somewhat recent feature on clipse's "let god sort em out" more attention has been drawn to stove for his charismatic delivery but reasonable doubt proves that he is so much more than that. The album is full of witty and funny lyrics that let his personality shine through and his often dramatic delivery serves as a good contrast to the monotone nature of most artists in his lane, but somehow it never feels like ... read more

While I still love this album and prefer it to the ghost-pop tape as ive gotten older I feel like at certain points it can be extremely preachy or edgy. Still I think the production sets it aside from the rest of his discography as jpegmafia and devon Hendrix. I consistently find myself coming back to it more than anything else. Bully, both neon kitchens, montebello high school prom, and my personal favorite song by him the power of Madonna keep me hooked in to this albums ... read more

When I first listened to this I was definitely way too harsh on it. Though I still think boldy has significantly improved his song writing past this point, it stands out as his first notable album and a look into how his future projects with the alchemist would look. Overall not terrible but I think it has way more lows than highs with both the vocals and the production being way too laid back to be memorable.
Grey october is my favorite song on this tho its amazing
my friend thats a swiftie sent me a few songs off this and i dont see how it warrents the hate its getting on here
Edit 70>80
Every song on this thing is so infectious and super memorable for a 17 minute project there's so much going on, the hooks are great and each song has something really memorable about it. It may be a little obnoxious to most people but i still love it
HES BEATING THE WASHED ALLEGATIONS.
In all seriousness bloody angel is the best thing to come out of haunted mound probably since rainbow bridge 3 which has been a staple in my music rotation for the past two years. Bloody Angel is great and only expands on sematary's grungy and noisy sound and really blew me away some with some noteworthy songs being HOCKEY mask 2, smoke machine, and Barrow wights. Im so happy to see hes finally doing non hm features its honestly so refreshing
Edit: nah this EP has its own thing going on and i really like it especially Uh-Huh. Malice doll is also very catchy
Solid hi-c project. Listening in retrospect makes it sound more like a teaser to left4dead where he fully capitalizes on ideas present in this ep
While I like this album it feels undercooked and weaker than other hi-c projects in terms of vocals, lyrics, and at times instrumentals. The last leg of the album is considerably strong though and that's what really saves the album for me Rank4, 3, and 1 are all amazing tracks worth coming back to and are great refinements of his style and sound
This is good, the vocals on this album are hypnotic. All i could think about while listening to this was how good it would sound live
