Very strong return to form for Cordae, by far his most fun and yet his most personal and emotional album up to this point, inspired by both the deaths of many close to him and the birth of his daughter
Also I desperately need to hear more of him with Anderson Paak, because holy god these two have fantastic chemistry
I love works of art that completely atom bomb your emotions, and even I was left shook by this. Every moment of this record is so raw and powerful in a way that is rare anywhere, and it also helps that the writing on this is beyond extraordinary. I’m probably now gonna have to do what I did post my first Deathconsciousness listen and choose something wholesome to follow this up with.
This gave me a headache.
This is the best album of the decade.
I literally cannot listen to this album more than once every few months because of how intense my response to it is.
Holy shit this clicked for me way more than I thought it would. This is some of the realest, hardest hitting, most emotionally charged rapping you’ll find out there. I’m now going to check out more Griselda, cause this was just great.
Does a lot of things very well, but to me makes him more a one to watch then someone doing amazing artistic work right now.
His vocal talent is undeniably immense, and he shows some incredible versatility here, but I can’t help but feel like he’s missing the artistry to really jump to the upper tiers of rap just yet.
