underscores’ most accessible album to date.
U sees her going full electropop, which I personally think plays to her strengths of writing catchy hooks, emotional lyrics executed in playful ways, and hard hitting, dynamic production work. It’s a really fun album that took my mind off how grim the world can be, especially now.
A sad song about someone being unable to forget a past love with a vocal performance that really sells it from venturing
Some of the best black metal vocals and guitar riffs I've heard from Hellripper so far
While not bad, I didn’t really care for this Boundaries single.
I don’t think Drew Fulk's production fits well with the band’s instrumentals as it sounds overly muddled to where I can’t pick out each instrument in half of the breakdowns on here. I also don't think the band are writing at their highest capacity on here. Some moments on here are cool like with the syncopated rhythms in the guitar against a breakdown, but most of the breakdowns I found to be ... read more
The ♡ EP sees Jane Remover taking a more laid back, poppier approach, almost akin to their Frailty album, but with a stronger execution in terms of the songwriting and production. I don’t know how I didn’t love this song the first time I heard it cause this goes very hard, both instrumentally and lyrically
The instrumental groove on this song is great and the chorus manages to fit in really nicely with it
To the shock of no one, featuring Kevin Rheault on a song by a folk band would make them sound more like Dropkick Murphys
Suicide Euphoria by Pissgrave is an absolutely gruesome and filthy death metal album that is not for everyone. I was hesitant going into this album since I don't usually enjoy this extreme and gory execution of death metal. However, I found that there were a lot of great performances and entertaining riffs that stuck out and kept me coming back.
While not bad, Join Us In Creating Excellence is a step down in quality for the band Soulkeeper particularly in creativity and cohesion from their debut album Holy Design. If they continue in this direction with an LP, I could see myself not enjoying it.
A great single from Jessie Ware that has a lot of what I liked from her last album That! Feels Good! featured on it
A pretty anti-climatic single from twenty one pilots that I was underwhelmed by
