With many beautiful moments, it feels more like a set of unfinished sketches that have not evolved into something unique.
This album just begs for better production and engineering. The sounds just don't stick together well. Everything is located on almost one level and even the vocal performance seems very good, it's hard to find this album interesting and get into this.
I've grown up with this album during last six years. By the first listen it gave me a lot of thoughts which are still up to date. There's something unique in the story The Suburbs tell. Definitely the best and most interesting Arcade Fire's release. After five years since I've left the suburbs and moved to the big city I have realized that this album simply became a very important part of my life.
