i was surprised that this got added instantly after i linked its proof of existence i thought for sure itd have to get like approved or something
listened to this high art while simultaneously talking with an internet friend about things that i will not disclose for their sake and truly the experiences enhanced one another. no better way i couldve spent a day in december staying up way too late

incredibly mixed bag in basically everything, including ironic enjoyment. ninja and yuck are high art, money on money is carried by future, and mami is just hilariously awful. unfortunately most of the rest was kind of just Boring

sometimes an artist tries something radically new and it works out really well and becomes either a smash hit or a cult classic. this is not one of those times
another one for the "ea listens to the (one of the) worst album(s) by good artists before anything else" collection
listened to this because i wanted to test how far my ability to give things positive scores without actually enjoying them goes but this actually also just has real issues. i didnt even dislike listening to this ... read more
i was under the impression that i was not enjoying most stuff this year because i was almost exclusively dabbling out of my genres of comfort. as it turns out it is significantly more likely that i just do not like rating music. or music. or anything really
will probably leave best of 2026 at 4 displayed albums because clearly i dont actually enjoy this at all
should probably mention that this is well made and whatnot because otherwise the fact that im giving this a 7/10 would look odd

this might as well just be an official album its more consistent than most of them in both quality and Vibes
listened to this twice to be more confident in my ratings but if anything im less so because i could see myself warming up further to this in the future. generally really pleasant both in terms of instrumentals and vocals. less relevantly the official artworks these come with are also really impressive which is always a nice thing to have

after listening to in a tidal wave of mystery and actually enjoying everything on it i thought the process of "hey ive heard this random single i wonder what the album its from is like" would be a good idea to try out again. Lesson Learned: Sometimes The Big Hit Is The Only Famous One For A Reason
normally id leave the review at that but honestly despite having had no idea what this was prior to a couple hours ago i ended up being really disappointed by this. the songs on this record ... read more

uh i kinda dont have much to say about this in general to nobody's surprise i dont really get it. i dont even really have an issue with his voice being weird which is the usual complaint its just kinda all-around Okay and nothing more for me. the weird high pitched vocal interludes in celebrity deathmatch are also odd but It Works I Guess

a humble serving of disappointment for helvetica (you're welcome)
generally really pretty all-around, the tracks segueing into one another seamlessly is a nice touch but also made it so i had to check back to see where each one actually started

i guess im taking recommendations now sure. id say i dont have anything better to do but no my time management is just terrible
fine enough all around but its a bit concerning that all the highlights of the listening experience were unrelated to the actual quality of the album and rather randomly hearing "faggot" somewhere in the middle of walls of jericho after being unable to decipher the lyrics on anything on the album and recognizing the first few seconds of hydroxycut from ... read more

alright there i fulfilled the quota of listening to Some 2026 Album oh this is the highest rated album of the year uhhhh i mean Sure
first half: the electronic elements here work really well and give this the party vibe its going for but as such its not exactly gonna be strong in the lyrics department. her voice is also kinda grating while she's leaning into the "no rules punk" sorta vibe which like yeah thats clearly intentional but its not all that fun to listen to

listening to Capital Cities in the big 26 what am i doing
bit hard to take the chorus of "aint nobody gonna tell me how to live" seriously after having listened to bad reputation
about as thematically(?) consistent as the album cover is realistic but its fun for probably that same reason. a true "good vibes :)" experience. second half kinda mellows out though, again with the insane album cover metaphor im trying to use here its like getting used to whatever the hell this ... read more
it is impressive that a 35 minute long song manages to not feel like its overstaying its welcome
middle part is a bit weaker than the rest but this is better than the sum of its parts, not doing track ratings or averaging because calling this an "album" is generous its one album-length song
youd think that out of the 8 people who found and rated this album before i did one of them wouldve thought to add the tracklist. guess not. alas, the honor is mine
i should probably actually say something about this Uhhhhhhhhh it's good i dont really know what youd expect from this but if youve heard of this band before yeah its more of that. in the more likely event that youre staring at this review wondering who the hell these guys are uh its like brit-inspired pop (dream pop? idfk ... read more
