Nine Inch Nails are one of my favorite bands of all time, consistently dropping quality album after quality album, so it’s no surprise that goes for their soundtracks too. Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross cooked up a great soundtrack full of everything I like about NIN and more. Hopefully the movie is good too, I haven’t seen it yet.
We are in the home stretch, only 5 more albums left! The next album is… Well, not exactly an album…? It is a Secret Circle ... read more

I was introduced to The Roots from their album Undun, which I think is one of the greatest rap albums of all time. So when I added their most acclaimed album, Things Fall Apart, I expected something as good as Undun, and instead, I got an album that kind of bored me and never really captured my attention. I’m going to sound like a broken record with most of these reviews, but there are of course some goods songs on this album, but overall, Things Fall Apart is a disappointment, but ... read more

Why the fuck not? Why should I not bust my ass down in the middle of the street?
I was not supposed to listen to this album, as it wasn’t on my list, but I threw it on for the hell of it, and guess what? The 3rd highest rated album of the year turns out to be good! Granted, it’s not something I’m gonna go back to, but it’s enjoyable and what I needed at the time.
As stated in my last review, the next album is… Things Fall Apart, by The Roots.

I have many questions after listening to this project, with most deviating off “what the fuck?” Rival Dealer is an eclectic, off-the-wall, progressive album that is sure to please whoever listens to this EP. My only gripe is to make this into a full album, as 29 minutes is nowhere near enough for me.
I am close to wrapping up this trip, and the albums that I will listen to. The next one I will listen to is… Things Fall Apart, by The Roots.

Thanks a lot, Luca. You happy now?
Joey Valance & Brae’s 2nd album, NO HANDS, is a fun display of rapping and production abilities that’ll definitely turn up the club if they were played there. (I have not been to a single club in my life) There are a lot of witty bars and punchy production throughout the album, but it can get a bit repetitive, especially in lyrics. I wish the best of luck to this duo here.

Me and the majority of the people know that the only reason I listened to this album is because of Fast Car, but I found myself decently surprised by the rest of the album too. Of course, Fast Car is a certified classic, but songs like Talkin’ Bout a Revolution and For You are also very good songs, and the rest of the album is well written and produced, even if other songs didn’t stick with me. Good stuff.

I remember when my dad showed me the live version of the song Dondante, and I was blown away by the sheer scale of the song. Two years later, I finally decided to listen to the album Z, which of course features the song Dondante, and, if I’m being honest, was disappointed. The majority of the music was very much not my style, but was good for what it was. If you are up for a more alt-country sound, check this album out. If you’re like me, check out Lay Low and Dondante.

I pray to god this is just unfinished and Kanye will go back and finish/edit it TLOP style, because as it is right now, it is good, but unfinished to the point where songs like 530, one of my favorite Donda 2 leaks, sounds like a rough demo. Also, who the fuck put a Kanye AI on Sky City? Because I officially have issues with that man.
As stated in my last review, the next album I will listen to is… Z, by My Morning Jacket.

Freddie Gibbs and Madlib go together like fucking peanut butter and jelly, and I’m so glad we are getting more of them in the future. Simply some great rapping over some great beats, nothing more, nothing less. Piñata better tho.
Sorry for the short review, but I’m excited for VULTURES 2. If it doesn’t drop, I will listen to… Z, by My Morning Jacket.

I’m probably not the only one to say this, but I am surprised this was recorded and written before 9/11, because this album feels like it was made as the towers were falling. Looking back on that statement, that is wild for me to say, but you get my point.
This is a good album, however I believe that it is quite overrated due to my taste. There are some pretty great songs on this album though. I really like the first song a good deal. Also that cover art is great.

I woke up way too early for this and I have no regrets. JPEGMAFIA never fails when it comes to making great albums, and this album is no exception. Packed with great beats with what seems like a live drummer, guitarist, & orchestra, and witty lyrics that only he could pull off, I LAY DOWN MY LIFE FOR YOU is another great addition to the PEGGY discography, and I am so glad that I am gonna see him live.

I’ve often overlooked The National as “another indie band that’ll be forgotten in a couple years,” but today, listening to their 5th album High Violet, I have come to realization that I am a huge dumbass for thinking that. High Violet contains some of the most beautiful pieces of music I’ve heard in a minute while keeping me engaged throughout with its poetic lyrics and pummeling drums. If you haven’t already, check this thing out.

True Shit from the Shitty Boys themselves.
BabyTron is a name who never really came to mind when I thought of up & coming rappers who are good, but after hearing his mixtape Bin Reaper, I still won’t think of him as that. Don’t get me wrong, this is an incredibly fun project and kept me entertained throughout, but other than that, there is really no reason to return to a majority of these songs. Check it out tho.

The one and only Lil B. The BasedGod himself. One of the most influential artists of the 2010s. And is able to make a 34 track, 2 hour mixtape mostly cohesive and good? That’s some really godly shit.
In all seriousness though, Lil B did a really good job with this mixtape, but with it being a 2 hour album, there is bound to be some filler.
The first 10 tracks are a legendary run btw. If you take anything from this review, it’s to check those 10 songs out.

My dad has been wanting me to listen to this for so long, and to be honest, this is just pretty good. I can see the appeal of the album; it’s full of catchy songs and great production from the one and only Brian Eno, but Are We Not Men? and just Devo in general has never really clicked with me. Maybe if I was alive when it released, it would resonate with me more.

Kid Cudi is an artist who I have had a sort of love-hate relationship with. So many of his songs and albums just stick with me and I enjoy, such as MOTM2 or even Speeding Bullet To Heaven. But then he has projects like (I’m going to get killed for this) Kids See Ghosts & MOTM1 which are still good, but are kinda ehh in my books, and unfortunately, MOTM3 falls into that category as well.
While containing some genuinely great songs that could fall into the best of his ... read more

Trent Reznor continues to be one of the best things coming from the Midwest. To quote my 8th grade history teacher, “he is a national treasure.” Year Zero is a great album instrumentally and the lyrics are really strong and vivid. Also very political, especially a song like Capital G, a clear highlight in my book. Great album, still waiting on the show to happen.
Next, I will listen to… Man on the Moon III: The Chosen, by Kid Cudi

One of the rare cases where an album is better on its B-side than its A-side. Trench is one of the many concept albums by band twenty one pilots and, like a majority of their works, one that I am not a big fan of. Granted, this is easily one of their better albums, but even then, this album never really kept me intrigued in the concept and the story. Hopefully, the next album I will listen to will keep up its concept better.
And that album will be… Year Zero, by Nine Inch Nails.

The Eminem Show continues Eminem’s fairly strong run of albums in his early career but also continues a flaw that is still ever present in his work now: his albums are way too bloated. Many songs could be cut down and you would have an even better album than this. However, don’t let my criticism get ahold of you, TES is a good album. There are many good songs on the album and is very much worth your time.
Sorry for the lateness, I was busy today. Next up is… Trench, by ... read more

I’m going to keep it a buck with you all, I am super tired and do not have the capacity for a full review, all I have to say is listen to Living For The City. That song is absolutely amazing, and is one of Stevie’s best. Essentially, album good.
