There are a couple great songs on here, though a fair amount of filler is also present. Great bass lines all around, makes you wonder why Michael Dempsey was only around for one album.
Dave Grohl is 1/3 of my favorite band of all time. Unfortunately, Foo Fighters has 6 members.
Jonathan creates a catchy, hook filled album that still remains socially conscious and ahead of it’s time
Dark, atmospheric, biting lyrics, overall a very good listen, not as great in the second half but still worth it
everything that feels so good is BAD. BAD. BAD. these lyrics are so bland but the instrumentation combined with rivers’ voice is gorgeous so i don’t mind it i guess
Pleasure Pen is Seals and Crofts’ “Summer Breeze” meets Yves Tumor
Raucous, acerbic, lo-fi indie-folk that sounds more like anti-folk. This albums is not expansive or vast but rather centered and focused on real life, real feelings, and real experiences. In that way it’s very relatable and down to earth, through the eyes of one who is cynical yet sanguine. It listens like Leonard Cohen with the wit of Will Toledo or Elliot Smith. Not polished at all, but that adds more than it takes away for sure. Overall, this album feels sort of like a coming of age ... read more
For me CCR has always been a band that i’ve thought of as having a couple great songs and then nothing else of note. This is not at all the case. Creedence Clearwater Revival prove themselves to be an “album artist” with this release.
the amount to which i relate with the lyrics on this album is terrifying.

Molina creates a work of art so supple, so painfully biographical, so ... read more
I live off of albums like this. Albums where on the surface everything is smooth, well produced, pleasant to the ear, but underneath there is darkness. While not obvious at first, once you start looking for it, it creeps slowly in. This is a beautiful jazz rock fusion album that is both cynical and sincere, with some edge and a little humor for good measure. Overall it’s a great, easy listen that I certainly will come back to to fully digest.
