this is not significant. this is not groundbreaking. this is uninspired, tedious, palliative mall clothing store music.
this is abel’s real dad
also the synths on this album are fucking incredible
very very good indie rock/post-punk album, not too much else to say
bass heavy egoism.
my second favorite kanye album, this project is so underrated in terms of his discography.
when i first listened to this album i probably would’ve given it a 50. i didn’t understand the production or really the entire point of the project and it all sounded the same to me. after listening to a lot of different music over the past year or so i revisited die lit. it sounded completely different. nearly every track on this hour long plus album is a BANGER. i can’t believe it’s taken me this long to realize that. the production may be minimalistic but it’s ... read more
it doesn’t matter how good i think this is. it’s done it’s job, and that was to literally and single handed-ly define what the hip hop scene and sound of the 2010’s would look like. that speaks volumes.
The last words of a dying man are compiled into one of the most beautifully haunting pieces of music I have ever heard.
This is insane. I’ve always liked rocky, I’ve just never heard a really solid full length project from him. This is it. I’m glad i listened to it. The production is stellar, rocky is as catchy as ever and still delivers bar after bar.
I don’t know how i haven’t reviewed this yet. it’s great. abel is one of my most listened to artists this year, and for good reason. this project is tight, well produced, and very catchy. the singles are great, and the deep cuts are nearly as such. go listen to it if you haven’t already.
pretty strong overall, definitely a more creative approach than on his first two albums. It starts off pretty nicely, the JID feature was much welcomed, though this project does have a sort of weak middle section. It picks up a lot toward the end with ‘Fetus’ being the stand out track for me. rip Groggs.
I really want to love this album. I can’t. Earl is the best part of this project and some of the features really drag it down. For the most part the production is good, nothing exceptional, but interesting enough for it to work.
