This sounds like it was written by an angry 7th grader. I love it.

It’s decent. Obviously it’s just demos and unfinished works, but it still has that Steve Lacy sound and vibe. I really liked “4real”, one of the only almost finished tracks on this compilation.

This album is so mesmerizing. I don’t know how else to describe it. The rating that I put on this record back in January still stands. This is truly great.

listening to “your silent face” was the most peaceful i’ve ever felt while going 70 in a 55.

I cannot imagine a world where this album doesn’t exist. It has been so important to the culture of my generation, if it were to be taken away it would be like stripping the souls and identities of millions of people. That’s not to say that this album is wholly responsible for the trends and what-not in our current cultural and musical environment, it’s just that it represents those things... perfectly.

Okay obviously it’s not but it’s still amazing what 21 and Metro were able to pull off here. Morgan Freeman narrating the intro and the interludes is nuts, the production is so so sooo good, and 21 comes through with his best inflections, cadences, and... singing? This whole project just goes unbelievably hard.

this thing really drops off in the fourth quarter.

it’s grimy and experimental, I just wasn’t really feeling it.
