A fairly consistent and decent debut album, but it gets a little too much of the same. At least it's only about 30 minutes.
People think this is a disappointing final album? Oh come on!
(Get Back is a perfect closing to their career with that closing statement)
I can taste this album cover.
It tastes like nothing.
I can taste the music.
It tastes like hot sauce and cold water. It's messy.
And me and everyone else loves it.
Anyways, I'll stop writing this stupid review. This is a masterpiece.
The album's a mixed bag.
Some songs are absolute bangers, some could've been ignored and left off the album.
But all of them sound like they were recorded in a bar.
Maybe that's what the album cover truly represents.
That thing on the table is the 2nd best thing about the album, behind Achilles Last Stand.
Led Zeppelin continue their usual hard and bluesy rock style (while still having the occasional stolen song) on this album, but the improvement can be seen. The riffs are better, the lyrics have improved to a more poetic form on a couple tracks (Thank You and Ramble On, for example), and John Bonham gets to unleash his power on Moby Dick (Don't worry, no whales were harmed).
Led Zeppelin lyrics are 1 of 3 things:
1. Loving little girls
2. The girl is cheating
3. The most poetic shit you will ever hear
Oh, and we can't forget the stolen songs! Plenty here!
But they manage to make it better, and that's why we love them.
