Incredibly jack antanoff, but so fucking refreshing compared to all her recent stuff. Really like it, and it's very charming. Please Taylor do more of this immediately.
A shockingly massive improvement over his previous album. Super creative, wacky, heavy, beautiful and quirky. Felt so much more interesting, much less repetitive and had MUCH better songwriting. I mean this is an incredible album, damn. Great vocals (screams sound so much better), genuinely tasteful production choices, batshit insane as usual, it's a treat of an album. Go listen.
Too short but kinda still a perfect song. These guys know how to write the grooviest, heaviest, most interesting, funnest metal ever. Still wild that AWOLNATION is the vocalist and main songwriter of this band.
I LOVE the concept of a really fun, bouncy track, with incredibly eerie and dark feeling, behind it. Like, I thought that something awful was gonna happen in the music video, and it never did. The insane intro, the weird, trippy visuals, the cult-like clothing and horror-esque cinematography, but then it's a brilliant pop rap song. I am VERY intrigued by the direction this album, its themes, aesthetic etc. will stem from here. So excited omg.
Makes me wish Choke Me was a lil more metal-y, but tbh, this is nearly bordering on cliche modern alternative metal, compared to Choke Me's more unique sound. Riff is great, but the chorus does feel a little generic. Still a banger, obviously, and the breakdown is actually fire af.
this song grew more and more on me throughout the entire season, going from 20 all the way to 85 before the final, until it reached it's current 90. It's a fantastic song. Drums are awesome, traditional elements are awesome, the bass chord sequence is great, as to where if it didn't have a chord sequence, I would like it way less. Oh and the staging, performance, energy live was just immaculate, and likely what pushed it over the edge to defeat Israel and it's blatant ... read more
This is such a, frankly bizarre EP, from Wishlane. It doesn't have half the songs I thought it would, DOES include his all nighter song randomly (which is both a phenomenal song, and also I didn't think you could release it separately, but who knows), and feels like three ideas put together. The first three songs feel like SUCKER PUNCH "spin-offs" ig, which is cool, but they are all kinda underwhelming (and then SUCKER PUNCH isn't even on it). Then we have two much ... read more
Firstly, awful cover. Secondly, this is a very good album.
Black Orchid Empire give us incredibly good accessible progressive metal, with some great riffs, brilliant songwriting and awesome performances, with an occasionally same-y soundscape. A few of the songs clearly have the same chuggy guitar tone and most have a big, anthemic chorus, but like, it's still consistently enjoyable every time. The use of melodic sections, countless stunningly beautiful moments and the frequency of ... read more
Every Friday that arrives, really solidifies my belief that this is the best year of music ever. Six 100s already? I'm getting spoiled!
Anyway, this new album by Karmanjakah has certainly earned its score. I mean, the band is basically made for me, cause beautiful heavy music has long been one of my favourite things. The way they combine ethereal, atmospheric and dense post-metal with technical, rhythmic and crushing thall, is just everything I've ever wanted. I don't think ... read more
I mean, I gave Starfire a 100 on first listen, so I knew there was no physical way I wouldn't give this a 100 too.
First off, it's definitely better than the massively stuffed tracklist of Starfire, and is imo better than Oni 1 too. It's more daring, better produced and has higher highs (Congratulations is my fave Darko song). The electronics are a really cool part of this sound, and meshes real great with the nuttily heavy everything-else. I mean, the album is really beautiful ... read more
this is actually awesome like kinda gas fire flames damn
Really great song from Lucy, and damn that ending is actually incredible, but a couple of the production choices earlier on, were maybe not to my taste. But still a very nice, and very unique song. Really excited for the new song each week. Also this cover is badass btw.
Wait this is so peak. Love the post-punk vibes from the drums and guitar, the synths are awesome and compliment the rest perfectly and the climax is super powerful. Also the vocal melodies are so good, like exactly what I would have done. Wouldn't say it's a shoegaze song at all, but it's a fucking phenomenal song regardless. Super looking forward to more from this project, cause the aesthetics, sound and 'lore' really intrigue me. Also the song's kinda popping off ... read more
Unrelentingly aggressive, emotional and disturbing, this debut record from Roman Candle soared past my high expectations, and delivered possibly my favourite screamo album of all time.
When I first heard 'Can We Watch Something Happy?' in 2024 when it originally released, it became one of my favourite songs, and I was therefore gutted when it suddenly disappeared from streaming. But hearing it again on this album made it hit even harder than before, and to be honest, every song on ... read more
