Most of these songs are alright. Something that could be played on the radio and no one would mind. Only a handful of them are really worth anybody's attention.
Seems like a pretty heavy drop in quality compared to the previous projects, which all were so much more enjoyable. This new Post Malone record is painfully plain.
This mixtape serves for a smooth and fun exploration of KILLY's distinct sound.
I've been trying to understand the appeal of Jack Harlow and surely it can't have much to do with his art. This LP is incredibly uninteresting.
Future provides us with lifeless flows on top of run of the mill trap beats and doesn't care to try and evolve as an artist. This album is underwhelming on all fronts.
Kid Cudi has figured out how to make the most of his talent for creating atmospheric pop trap.
Seems like a flushed out version of the self-titled LP. There's plenty of forgettable lyrics and an even larger amount of straight up boring instrumentals.
Denzel Curry is a man of sheer talent. On every record he sounds refreshed and full of new ideas. One of the best rap albums of 2022 and I feel like it's going to stay that way.
Madvillainy sounds like it could've been made in early 2000s or in 2022. MF DOOM's rap is pretty much flawless as is the production.
I think this album hasn't aged very well. It sounds quite bland and one-dimensional on more than a couple occasions. However I do respect Kid Cudi's very distinct style, so if you're a fan of that - more power to you!
This is a classic example of a project you need to take your time with, give it at least two listens. It's not perfect as there are some terrible tracks, but it should be appreciated for Playboi Carti's willingness to explore. He has pushed experimental trap (punk trap?) as far as he possibly could.
JPEGMAFIA has achieved exactly what he was going for. This is (so far) the pinnacle of his style and definitely a win for experimental hip-hop.
ASTROWORLD really is like a rollecoaster. Relentless fun that leaves you wanting more.
