Man this album is so immaculately produced, like man, this tickles my brain.
Anyway the first 3 Tracks are amazing, especially the title track. It's so awesome, every part is so great. The drum/sax solo is an eargasm. Black Cow is perfectly simplistic and Deacon Blues is just so groovy. The second half is really great too, with every track doing something completely different, which I really appreciate. Every track has its hanful of stank moments, like the first 3, of course.
But yeah, ... read more
Yeah it rocks. And it does NOT sound like only three guys are in the band.
So my favourite songs here are Xanadu and Cinderella Man. Xanadu is self-explanitory, what a great track, even though I do believe the runtime should've been shrunken down a little because I think there is just a little too much repeating. But Cinderella Man is just... Such an amazing hard rock track. I especially love Neil Peart's drumming on here, it is just so precise and really excellent, like on every Rush ... read more
@Blibloblublub is going to kill me for what I am about to say...
Most of this album is in low 80's territory but is held up as a whole by the amazing 7th track.
There are 2 short tracks in the middle of the album that I find cool, but they do not do so much for me. The big 2 tracks in the first half of the album are great, but not much more. They both start good but what makes them so great is their climaxes at the end of the songs. I just think the climax at the end of the 4th song ... read more
Banger Banger Banger Album. Not a single bad second on here.
Of course, the side-filling opener is amazing. The Overture section might be my favourite, it is so energetic and jam-packed with mindblowing riffs. Then comes the next part, The Temples of Syrinx. It continues in the same energetic fashion and is quite catchy to be honest. In Discovery we find Alex Lifeson tuning his guitar (and playing harmonics because whatever reason) before he plays the guitar part to the actual song. Apparently ... read more
Not my favourite Beatles album anymore, but I still love it.
I wish the album were a little more consistent, that would boost it a good bit up. Because for every Tomorrow Never Knows there is a Yellow Submarine. But don't get me wrong, I love every song here! (maybe a bit biased cause nostalgia)
I particularily love the more psychadelic cuts here, like the aforementioned Tomorrow Never Knows, but also the entrancing She Said She Said or the catchy And Your Bird Can Sing.
Also I really ... read more
Why is that girl playing croquet with heads? Wtf?
This album, while not my favourite by the band, shows all their brilliance and musical abilities.
The three long songs are all great, but my favourite song here will always be Seven Stones. I just love that chorus and the climax at the end, it's really beautiful. The Return of the Giant Hogweed is another Highlight for me and never gets boring, also the solo is great. A seamingly very underrated track here is Harold the Barrel. It is a ... read more
Prog Classic. A very fun and playful album with its fair share of beautiful melodies.
Frefall starts the album with a warm athmosphere and after a few verses goes into a amazing bridge with a crazy good riff.
Supertwister continues with a similar vibe. It starts with a great 5/8 section and then transitions into a slow-paced part with a amazing flute solo, before returning to the 5/8 part. Nimrodel is a great Medley built from three distinct parts flowing nicely into another. The White Rider ... read more
I always regarded Master of Puppets as one of the weakest albums I owned, mainly because it was a gift from my uncle when I was getting into prog and to this point only listened to metal. But since a few months, it steadily has grown on me more and more, so here we are.
The only flaw I could list is the production. I don't like how muddy and spaced out it sounds and after a while it becomes fatiguing to listen to. Other than that I don't have any gripe with the album. The riffs are ... read more
Wow. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I think Steal This Album! is not my favourite SOAD album after all. But I'm not saying, not even close, that I find STA! significantly worse. In fact, the difference between the two is 0.31!
This album is a mixed bag. There are some just good or very good tracks here, but also some of the best System has ever put out. Nüguns, Ego Brain and Streamline remain in my top 5 favs, in fact Streamline was my favourite song of all time. ...I ... read more
IT'S THE BEETLES
Over time it has grown off me a bit, but is still a amazing Psychadelic pop album.
I'm surprised that some of my favourite songs off the album are considered one of the weakest, like Good Morning Good Morning and Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite!. But I'm not in the minority saying that A Day in the Life is a masterpiece of a song. But so are the other two I mentioned! Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite! is excellent psychadelic madness with amazing production, ... read more
Sweet album and just so much fun. And then it hits you with completely beautiful melodies out of nowhere, can't complain. There are also many athmosperic tracks which I like. The first half of the album is significantly better, featuring amazing songs like the bouncy Rhayader Goes to Town, the beautiful The Snow Goose and the amazing Migration. The second side opens great with Flight of the Snow Goose, which makes you excited for the next half of the album, but unfortunately it's a ... read more
The first song is so beautiful. The rest of the album is really great too, but doesn't come to the same height. I love the chaotic time signature changes mixed with mesmerising passages, but I just wish the album was a little bit longer. Any progheads should have at least listened to this album when it comes to italian prog. Fuck man I need to write a little more... Uh, I like pizza hawaii, I guess?
**Thanks you people for 70 followers and liking my stupid ass reviews!**
Offensively Bri'ish
I can sip tea to this
How did Invaders get so low? What are you all on, it's one of the better songs here. Also why is 22 Acacia Avenue so low man?? What are y'all on??? That part from where the fast part kicks in is amazing. I guess I am in the minority here. But I can agree that The Number of the Beast is awesome. I particularily like the part where Mr. Siren goes ... read more
Eeeeey blud it is tea time, innit? Nah it's 10 pm (at least where I live)
This album is tight, it is groovy, it is sooo well produced, it is bloody excellent.
U.K. were a progressive rock supergroup in the late 70s made up by known prog superstars Bill Bruford (Yes, King Crimson) and John Wetton (King Crimson, Asia), as well as virtuosos Allan Holdsworth (guitar) and Eddie Jobson (keyboards, electric violin) The album starts with a 3-part suite, it starts with a 7/4 groove with In the Dead ... read more

After listening to both of them, I think again that Toxicity better. Not that the debut is significantly worse, no, no, I think they are nearly equally good. This one is much more rawer than later material, but still is definetly System.
Sugar is overrated and I will not change my opinion. 96?? Also CUBErt is really underrated, not the worst on the album man :(
Steal this Album is still better than Toxicity, but it could happen that I change my opinion when I listen to it soon.

Octopus tastes good
This album is sweet and yet full of wild prog songs. What were they consuming in the studio?
The Advent of Panurge opens the album kicking a lot of ass, and the song after drops the listener into a 1340s market, like what the fuck. A Cry for Everyone is weird; it contains both straight hard rock and conga madness, but what else would you expect from Gentle Giant. The next song, Knots is even wilder and is mostly build from only vocals and percussion, man what the fuck. The ... read more
Fish? Concept album? Prog? Space Rock? Count me in!
Solar Musick Suite and The Salmon Song are both superb long tracks with multiple movements. Aftaglid is too, but I think it is a little unfocused at times. There are two short tracks on here, one silly little rhyme with toilet flushing sounds and a hypnotising guitar solo.
The whole album is very hypnotising and reminds of other Space Rock / Canterbury / Prog acts, most notably Gong, which makes sense, because Steve Hillage was guitarist ... read more
Probably the first album I heard, ever.
So when I was 9, my drum teacher showed me how to play Toxicity, the song. I told my family about the new song I was learning and my dad remembered soad. He bought himself the cd of Toxicity for christmas and from then on, every car ride would have my family listening to soad lol. I loved the album and wanted more, so I bought the debut and STA! used and got the two 2005 albums for easter. Summer I started listening to more metal, like Black Sabbath, Tool ... read more
75? Nah bro
This album's amazing. Yes, there are some weaker tracks (The Loser in the End and Funny How Love Is) but man. I always thought, the first side only had one very good song (Father to Son) but White Queen is gorgeous and Some Day One Day is too.
The second side, or the black side, is most definitely one of the best sides in the Queen discography. You have back to back the hard rocking Ogre Battle and the whimsical Fairy Feller's Master-Stroke, then the beautiful Nevermore and, of ... read more
The first side is incredibly strong, Golf Girl, WInter Wine and In the Land of Grey and Pink are all amazing whimsical tracks, Love to Love You is sweet too. On the other hand, while still being really good, Nine Feet Underground is one of the weaker 20+ min prog epics I know. It starts very strong and ends good, but the middle section is all over the place with not that good transitions. It feels more like a collection of scrapped song ideas than a prog epic written as one.
Still, in my ... read more
